I have a nickname for SF - TrollForums.
The vast majority of their users are there for the OT section. What a waste of time. By the time it ends up there you could have found it somewhere else earlier. I wonder what it feels like to always be a week late on todays "in" joke?
And how many of their "members" even have a Supra? "Oh, I want a MkIV." How about STFU. At least I HAVE a Supra and it is faster than your civic.
I have always said that any "community" forum/site/etc should not be controlled by a shop/vendor. It is not in the group's best interest to have this happen. Those people that are stuck on TrollForums are letting someone hold them hostage. There is a difference between "supported" and "controlled".

I follow their little rules - even when their rules don't make any sense.
For example...
They let me promote SILV in the "National Events" section - to a degree. The reasons given for having another event plastered all over the "General" section was that TrollForums only supports one Supra event each year. I call a huge BS on this considering there is a sticky in General right now for the Chicago event (not the "official" TrollForums event) that has been over for nearly a month now. We won't go into the other events that benefit from wide exposure in the "General" section while The Largest Supra Event on the Planet is forced to live in the wasteland of "National Events". The joke is on them though. I draw more Supras than several of those "supported" events combined.

I just noticed that they have ad links in the actual text of the post. I found that really annoying. At least with the banners, you didn't have to look at them to read about something in a thread. It has been argued (over and over and over) that TrollForums takes a lot of money to run. It recently came out that the largest part of the expense is not the actual hosting itself. They PAY their moderators! This is their choice - as it is their board and they do not have to answer to anyone (see previous note about a community tool should not be run by a shop).
I don't see how their "regular" paying sponsors will not feel slighted by this bold move.

Yes, they may start banning people that talk bad of TrollForums on other sites but it doesn't matter to them. The large majority of people on that site don't care. They are just there for the free porn - that you can find in larger amounts (and better) if you just knew where to look (Oh yeah... half the people there can't use a freakin' Search button so I doubt they could find porn outside TrollForums if it came out of the sky, landed on their face, and started to wiggle.
Today's society is made up predominantly of people with the attitude of "Give it to me" not "the answer has to be out there already I'll go on a quest to find it and not bother people until I have made an effort".

I was banned once because of a lame ass member that only posts in off topic yet he is buddies with one of the mods. We were having a debate then he took it to pm's and sent our discussion to his buddy and they banned me even though he was instigating it. Either way I go there for some of the info that cant be found here and nothing else.

I've never seen a bigger collection of self prophesed "experts" in one place that don't actually and have never a) Owned a Supra b) built a motor or c) have any real life experience in performance cars.
It's all well and good bench racing/building but if if you have NFI just STFU until you do and try to learn (man I learn so much here it's a brilliant resource and I can't understand the "Eddie the Expert" types that think they know it all and can provide pages of data on something they've never done!
Having said all that I agree with Matt that this should be the end of this thread so welcome to SM!
