I come from a land down under
Thanks :)

It picked up some power over the 97Db 3" and moved the Power curve 1000 rpm earlier and really bumped up the midrange (at the time with the 3540r this was a very bad thing though)

Holy shit hell has frozen over and my chromed parts have been finished... Only took 1.5 lifetimes for them to figure it all out. I should get everything tomorrow. Be prepared for lots of awesome pictures of shiny stuff!

Who cares about your toes, I'm getting chrome :p. I wish I could be driving around in this weather... I wonder how the GTK will respond to such generous temperatures :).

Im a little late on this conversation... but leigh if you go with dump pipes its going to drone a shitload more... I had a 3.5inch dump pipe on mine, and when I went to a straight tip the drone was reduced by so much!

My exhaust is way too loud so i need a cheap solution asap, I have EPA testing on September 1 and need to pass noise, I was at 104db last test...

Exhaust consists of 2.5inch twin dumps into 3inch down pipe, 2x 2.25 holden commodore cats, 3 inch all the way back to a muffler and tip... Im thinking some steel wool in there somewhere and a restrictor plate might be the way to go to get it through the tests??

Then Im gonna put it back to the way it was ;) ie. no cat, and a resonator:D

Well I have a 45 here that I'm going to tack on and see how it sounds... if its bad I'll ditch it for a straight with an angled cut tip.

If you 100% want to shut the 1J up you need an offset-offset muffler, Guaranteed to cut the noise. Thats if you want it to be quite permanently.

I've never done it but the thin piece of ali cut to the shape of the flange with a few small holes in it is 'sposed to cut the noise right down. Just use the gasket as a template, if you get real thin ali like .6 ish you should be able to cut it with a stanley knife. Know tho that the Poo don't like those noise restrictors, which is why it has to be thin so they can't see it! ;)

BTW why dod you have 2 x 2.5" holden cats in there???

Yeah I am going like that atm... and I cbf pulling it out now lol

having 2 cant be a bad thing, theyll make it quieter and give me a better chance of passing EPA no?

I don't think it will hurt but it wont make your exhaust any more EPA friendlier then one working cat. To be honest I'd think it'd make them more sus, but its your choice dude. ;)

Got my boost controler working today, in my rush to get ready for the dyno day I forgot to plug the BC into the PFC! lol. Switched it on, setup the sensor and fixed the idle. Gonna go out and give it a wee squirt a little later to make sure she's boosting all good.
