My friend just picked up a 2001 Crown Victoria Police interceptor, it has a 4.6L v-8... and he's wondering what he can do to get some more power out of it.... if anybody has some tips for the specific car that'd be cool.

anybody know some performance numbers of these cars? preferably the publicly sold used ones, since they've been stripped of stuff that may or may not effect the performance.

Full standalone system. 2 turbos, bigger injectors, walboro fuel pump. And you'll have a retardedly HIGH horsepower crown vic. Will probably be a tuning nightmare tho.

Edit:And cost a lot.

For "retardedly HIGH horsepower", plan on a second walbro, or one properly sized fuel pump. I don't think you can get more than around 500 hp from a single. hth.

thanks for the posts. sadly something just happened and either they were racing or he was just speeding, but he inadvertantly caused another one of my friends to crash, and there were 3 people in the car.

one girl is beat up, the other has broken ribs, and one of the boys has a broken neck.

i'm pissed, and this thread is useless. i could have just let it die but i feel like venting and i cant do that to people i know personally.

i just hope it goes well and my friend gets out of this broken neck without complications.

A crown vic cop car is just a stock car equipped with a towing package. heavy duty suspension, charge system, maybe a larger radiator, oil cooler. that's really about it. engine, trans and rear are stock items. It is hit and miss on the quality of a used one. The patrol cars get beat up pretty good with usually differant drivers constantly. Trans replacement at 100k gauranteed. A better bet would be the under-cover car, usually painted a color instead of patrol car white. These cars are exactly the same, but not driven nearly as hard, and usually only one guy drives it. If it happens to be used by a guy who has pride in the car, he would take care of it like it was his own.

thanks for the help and the positive comments everybody. they're getting better and all but my friend with the broken neck are out of the hospital. he'll be a few more days at least and then have to go through therapy and months with a brace until they determine if surgery is necessary.

thanks again.
