I don’t know if anyone outside of cali is aware of a huge wild fire which is currently 0% contained and people from all over the county are being evacuated to the Qualcom stadium. The santa ana winds are not helping it I don’t know if this has turned into a fire storm, but I hope it hasn’t.

I wish best of luck to any of our members caught or affected by this fire. I am waiting on stand by. Got some of my important docs. Ready to go. Just waiting for the call to leave and I will try to head up north towards my cousin’s home in LA. Best of luck to anyone in this area. I pray no harm will come to you or any of your loved ones and your property. You will all be in my prayers tonight. One last time good luck to anyone in the area.

NVM- its now a fire storm and is spreading to LA, they say this could be the biggest fire ever in cali

i am watching this on the news, i skipped school even. I got family there and i'm just waiting for a phone call or something. That fire is nuts though, Mother earth must be pretty pissed.
I hope that everyone who lives there, or near there can be evacuated safely and securely.

I come from a land down under
Damn guys :(

We just had our first bushfire of the season here and it's still spring, I guess everywhere is dry at the moment.

Usually in your off season the US Fire Fighters come here to help out and we do the same in our off season but this year there's a huge overlap.... this can't be good.

Shit guys, just did a bit of reading on what's going on over there... So sorry to hear about it... Not the best thing to happen :(

Have lots of experience with bush fires over here, and it's as scary as all fuck.

Best of luck to you all, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

For those of you who think they can't spread quickly, with a change in the direction of the wind, things can change in a heartbeat. If you're even remotely close to what's going on, my advice will be to just be prepared for the worst, regardless of what the reports are saying at the moment. Pack up all your valuable and papers, and just leave them somewhere easily accessible.

Also make sure your gutters are clear of crap, and hose down the outside of your house, and leave the hose somewhere easy to get to in case you may need to use it...

The first fire in Malibu was due to electrical lines. The fire in Irvine was due to arson and maybe half of the 9 fires in san diego were due to arsons supposedly.

ok i just got to coronado its an island right off the coast in San Diego and now i am just doing nothing :$

Pretty nice out there, huh? I was there almost a month ago to spread my uncle's ashes. That area is quite beautiful, so long as you are away from traffic.

As I recall, fires in L.A., Riverside, Orange and San Diego counties are fairly common. There were a couple of years in a row back in the late 80's/early 90's that the Gypsum Canyon area was raped.

It seems like you are prepared a little at least, and that is good; keeping those documents safe is a good step that many people probably forget in a panic. Stay safe, and enjoy your time on Coronado Island if you can get your mind around the worry.

The hill next to my house caught fire yesterday for some reason. The whole neighborhood tried to battle it with hoses. The fire dept finally came and got it, no damages.

Today, the big damage was just a few exits north in Rancho Bernardo. Probably 10-13 miles up, tons of homes destroyed. We are just south, and not in immediate danger, but I'll be up all night just in case things change.
