you can do that too with an auto right? just leave it in N and then bam to drive!
NO! thats VERY VERY bad for the transmission. AKA Nuetral dropping.

The ideal way to "brake boost"
You put the vehicle in D, and apply just enough brake to keep the car from moving and apply gas to build boost adjust brake pedal pressure to accomodate for the increased gas. Then let go of the brake once boost is built and your off.

Good idea....if you want to make a "My stupid AT blew up on me...time to go r154" thread in a couple weeks.

AT ftw in drag....freaks people out when you are holding boost through the gears

Eh... to me, a stick shift is equated to *driving* the car.

With an auto, you just steer. :p imho. It's also a hell of a lot harder to go REALLY fast down the 1320 in a stick.

I've got more respect for the 10.0 flat stick shifting guys, than the 9.9 automatic guys.

The last time I drove an automatic was 2 years ago after my sunfire got into an accident. The rental car I had while mine got repaired was an auto Nissan Sentra. I wanted to kill myself...haha.

Now we definately don't need to get in an argument over who is a better driver or what to have more respect for. Hands down, Driving a manual transmission takes more skill than an Automatic..but that doesn't mean that you can't respect an Auto for what it does. Sure, he isn't shifting and slamming gears blah blah blah...But he had to get somewhere with the car in order to allow it to do so and do it well...I respect any fast Supra for what it's worth...

With that being said, AT FTW ;);)

PS: 5 Speeds are a lot funner to drive...but don't think my car isn't fun. ;);)
