I had a kid with a loud civic ask me what kind of car mine was, since it was in
such great shape. I said it was "an '84 Toyota Supra". He said yeah, B.S.
I thought, it SAYS Supra on it, but anyway. He then reads the tag "NOT RICE".

Him: "What's that mean, NOT RICE"
I looked at his winged, stickered mismatched civic. And nodded at his car.
Him: "At least my car is fast."
Me: "Keep telling yourself that"
Him: "here comes my friend now" (in an integra I think), "He'll beat your ass"
Me: "I don't care" Then to his friend, is your honda turbo?
his friend: "no"
Me: "ahh."

I then got in the car started it up and pulled gently away, about two lights
later I'm going to get into the highway, and they both try to pass me, I
figure since I'm getting on the on ramp I can safely get on it a little. I push
the gas down, feel 15psi, and leave about 30 car lengths in a few seconds.

Then slow back down to the speed limit, and wait. They finally came up
beside me, and asked what the hell is in that thing.

I said it was stock (I lied).

Ive got no intention to race, nor generalize civic owners. Ive had no negative encounters with them over here, and am friends with quite a few of them!

Generalizing a group of people is not right IMO. Nor is calling all civic's slow!

My friend Dan would take me anyday, but he is putting down 534 RWHP on a 93 hatchback.

the greatest is when you get honda owners pulling up to the track getting ready to race and your standing watching your fellow supra bud make 12's all night long.. and one of the honda owners friends says "Watch him do a sick ass burnout and make 11's" all i see is a bit of tire hop and a 14 second pass and him dragging his exhaust the entire way down the track.. Sad thing is this thing was pretty clean..

My friend has beaten my daily driver NA Neon and my brothers PT Turbo (I can;t launch that thing) with his (really) Turbo Civic. It only boosts 5 psi and has the same size turbo as a SRT4. However, he never CLAIMS it to be fast. He really thinks it's slow. My Neon is just, well, slower. His Mustang is alot faster in the straights, however, there is a trade-off in his go-normal Civic. It can't handle for shit. My Lowly Neon has, on downhill runs, been able to out-do lowered Civic's, Integra's, RSX's, and the like for some strange reason. Maybe it's cause i run 225's instead of the max recommended 215 (that took some persuading), or the fact I have a decent suspension setup and his Civic is stock. Not really a comparison there. I know he's not a total idiot. The fact he bought the turbo Civic was for a different reason: To prove it isn't all that fast. We just drive around in it, blowing off on anything that looks REMOTELY like rice. Sure, we act like idiots in that car because that's what people expect of us, however, me and him both understand that the Civic is not the Supercar of the century. It is, however, cheap, and a lot of fun to beat to death.

i hate the punks that drive them like their mclarens,

i respect the guys that know what they are doing and rebuild their own engines. I have been tempted to build a k20, i'll have a chance to help build one soon... so i'll see.

You guys all amuse me as well, I had no idea when I started this post it would be so popular. I will admit it was wrong of me to generalize all civic owners as being stupid. But this is proof positive why sm is the greatest sight ever it lets us all give our 2 cents about nothing.
