are TT rims 275's? could you put TT rears all the way around? :p

MAN that's a HUGE tire for the front. it almost looks...wrong.

what kinds of cars run tires that big up front. vipers and vettes?

Yes, you could put TT rears all around... a 5mm spacer upfront and maybe 12mm out back would make them flawlessly flush as well. The fronts might rub a bit. The downside is that TT rims are heavy, like, retardedly heavy. Your top speed and acceleration would most certainly feel it. Cornering grip would be amazing and braking would be quite nice. I've run the 17x9.5 TT rims up front, and the stopping distance has saved my ass several times.

I'd tell you to buy aftermarket rims that are lighter though, I think TT 9.5 rims are something like 28lbs with no tire.

i have 17X9 +36 all the way around with 255 khumho mxs. the mxs are flush with the wheel i was worried the 275s would have to much baloonage and aparently i was right.

would that mean a 10" wide wheel would solve that? with a proper offset of course.

cornering grip, stopping.

But you also add increased rolling resistance. I don't see autoX or dedicated track cars rolling tires that wide. Why would a "street" car need that - except to say "I've got fat@$$ed tires Beeotch!"

I don't know what autoX cars you're looking at but many of the cars I've seen have very wide tires. Also many autox cars are older and lighter which means they don't need as much width or can't fit as much. The only thing that increased rolling resistance does is arguably lower your gas mileage, which when you're talking about the supra, is nothing to be proud of anyways. If anything, I'd say that most people are hard-parkers who will never actually take advantage of the increased width.

OMG wtf are you talking about

the mk4 around here has 315s up front and 335s in the back

the corvets run 295s 315s

the nationally prepped grand am runs 295s all the way around

dont talk unless you know what your talking about

Way to act like a dick to someone who does more for the community than you ever will. He may be incorrect but there is no need for you to be an ass.

EIDT: Also, alot of dedicated track cars run narrower tires to reduce the cost of consumables. Wider tires are heavier and more expensive. Upgrading to a tire that large will make a serious dent in the wallet of the enthusiast track guy. They also put more stress on many components throughout the suspension.

Ouch.

275s have more contact area than 255s. More contact = more grip.

Sure, 255 R-compounds > 275 street compounds, but 275 r-compounds > 255 r-compounds :)
