the same way we differentiate between an 87 SUPRA and a 91 SUPRA...by the year....

Oh..so now my car is an ma61-yadda yadda...not a supra?
just because one is true doesnt make the other one false. That is an FC RX7. we have MA7(0/1) supras and both are inherintely true. Plus, its easier to differenciate them by their chassis code, fb,fc,fd is the easiest way i know of.

Hey Arron. Can you tell me some features the RX-7 has? I know that my neighbor took out the RX-7's electronic suspension because of the harsh ride. But what else? Neat tidbits. Isnt there a shift buzzer? lol

The FC was quite an upgrade from the SA/FB (1st gen. RX-7). It was more of a sport/touring car than the FB and it handled way better because they put rack and pinion steering in it.The independent rear suspension had special toe control hubs which were capable of introducing a limited degree of passive rear steering under cornering loads. It is extremely well balanced and handles corners real well. It would be cool to line one up against an AE86 in a drift competition. The ride is actually softer than the FB but maybe your neighbor's electronic suspension needed repair? Mine doesn't have an upshift buzzer but if it did, it would be gone the first time it buzzed.:naughty:

They make around 150 hp which is fine for a light car IMHO but the best feature is that the higher it revs, the more power it produces and it sounds like a real mean sewing machine!

The FC was the best selling RX-7 so lots of people must have liked it. The people on the RX-7 forums are pretty helpful and definitely fanatics. I still prefer my MA71 over my FC but a Ford turbo smallblock would change my mind maybe.:evil2:

All in all, a fine car but not as cushy as my Supra.

Mine's N/A:cry:

It redlines at 7000 and mileage is right around 18 mpg but if I beat on it that drops to 15 mpg or so. When I got it the motor was carbon locked and freeing it up might have affected it so your future car probably will get better mileage. You do have to clean the carbon out of them occasionally as preventative maintenance but that's no big deal. You should have your neighbor take you out and attack some twisties. I can hear you screaming Doriftooooooooooooooooo already.:biglaugh:

go for it hell's. my best friend has a 91 n/a, swaybars, springs, upgraded turbo II breaks yada yada yada. i LOVE driving it. the handaling is amazing. your butt is about 6 inches off the ground, the steering feel is amazing, and it takes the corners like nothing else. very good for the auto-x.

www.rx7club.com lots of good stuff there

my dream? an FC with a 350 sbc and a 200-4r tranny, damn that would be sweet.

Swapping a V8 into an RX-7 requires replacing the stock subframe with an aftermarket sub that is built to handle the V8. If the someone you know used a "piece of crap mazduh's" stock subframe with a V8 then he/she is an IDIOT and deserves a broken car.
