I would not pay that much for that pipe. I rather keep my stock one and spent that money on something more useful. Like a head gasket or a good tune up or even a back up used turbo if I could find one for that price.

I have one, the vac. ports aren't located exactly in the same positions as the stock accordian hoses are. You will most likely have to get about 6" of rubber hose, cut them into 3 equal lengths, clamp them onto the metal fittings on the stock vac hoses that come out of the accordian hose, and fit the other end of the short hose over the cooleeze pipe. Other than that, the pipe will last the life of the car, the only possible things you would have to replace would be the silicone couplers, and I doubt you'd have to replace those ever unless they get chewed up from the worm clamps that come with them.

probly little to no power gain..

i wouldnt call it "cosmetic" though... it lasts alot longer without fear of cracks, boost leaks, etc.

its a great investment if you ask me.

and when i post pics of my old hose, you will understand.

How do you get boost leak from a cracked accordian hose? My hose was 16 years old and didn't have noticeable cracks.I just don't think its worth it. There is better thinga to spend money on.

You can't have a "boost leak" in a hose that doesn't see positive pressure :nono:
how can it not see positive pressure is the bov is connected to it? come on i know im new but that is just common sense....:nono:

powersteering idle up if i remember correctly or if thats what it is called

also i remember a thread with someone dyno'ing their car before/after the intake pipe install. Hp gain was 2hp. So its more show than go

a cracked accordian hose is not a good thing. although no boost leaks, your letting in A. Un-metered air, and B. Un-filtered air, which can lead to the death of your turbo

and yes, the small vacuum line on the bottom of the hose is the power steering idle line.

Just to let you know. The caps don't seem to be air tight. and It leaks unless you use T-bolts. worm clamps don't work well. And thats what they send you. It doens't fit the Lex afm properly either. They say it does but thats only if you really force it on. Then it denfinetly won't seal without t-bolts.

For their price it should definately include t-bolts :3d_frown:

And whoever said its ceramic coated thats why its more $. True the coating is more expensive, but its pretty much not needed, a polished or chromed pipe would be fine. Ceramic coating is only needed for parts that get very hot, like exhaust or manifolds, etc. Its not going to have any noticable effect on an intake piece.

There's no common sense to that statement of yours

The bypass valve's purpose is to seal off positive (boost) pressure from the accordian hose until it senses a drastic change into vacuum, then it will open, allowing the excess pressure built up from the turbo still compressing the air in the intake pipes to "bypass" back into the turbo. The accordian hose is always seeing vacuum when the engine is running due to the turbo pulling in massive amounts of air through the air filter that's attached to the AFM, wich is attached to the accordian hose.

So my point again is, how can the accordian hose see positive pressure???

I wouldnt worry to much about the un filtered air as much as un metered.

The lower line IS the power steering idle up, but its really not needed....i dont use one.

This line is so the when your sitting in a parking spot, and you turn the wheel, the car doesnt stall out.

I made my own 3inch intake pipe and sold them for a short time. Didn't have much interest even though mine was 1/2 the cost.

I'm still using mine, looks and works great!

I was considering one cause my stock accordian tube has seen better days
but I wanted to see if anyone has one installed so I could get some feedback on it.
I can get a new one for $145 shipped. Is it worth it? Pros/Cons...

I bought this one from Cooleeze in Canada but could not make it fit onto my turbo. I have a CT26 60 trip compressor and clipped turbine. I agree with Kylar27 and Silvergsx you can make your own out of mandrel bent aluminum pipes for a better price.

you should check it out. I didnt really notice until i did a pressure test. Right when i applied pressure to it it was leaking at the turbo and afm. The worm clamps broke before they would seal
