I'm not sure if I can post this or not, but if it gets closed, I apologize.

A guy on another forum hasn a S2K with intake and exhaust as far as I know. Has anyone ever raced one yet?
Another guy has a boosted EP3.
They both want to roll race my car but I told them I will only dig race. $50 each person :icon_bigg

I have an 87 turbo targa 5spd. Full 3" exhaust with no cats, fresh rebuild, cometic gasket, intake, mbc, and slicks. (oh, and a good driver, lol)

So, not sure what the S2K's run, but it's goin down next weekend unless I break something... again...

I get to choose the type of race, roll or dig. Which one?
If I'm dig racing, it'll be on slicks. Roll will be on crappy yokahama street tires

Thanks and if this is in the wrong spot or not allowed, I apologize.

dig. s2k's suck at low rpms, and this is from personal experience. I raced one with my almost completely stock supra and pulled away from him like nothing... and with slicks you are going to humiliate him.

Well, they are slicks, but a different type. They are like the kind NASCAR uses. I bought them for the use of autocross, but I think they will still work on a few dig races.

Your gonna kick his ass. S2k's aren't a fast car in a straight line,

I did a lil research. Supposedly bone stock they run mid 14's :icon_neut

My guess is my car runs a high 14 at best....

While we are on topic about racing, I have a mbc, but no fcd or anything. When will I get fuel cut? Is it at a certain speed? If I were to take my car to the track, would it cut before I reach the end of the 1.4 mile?

I have a friend with a celica with a 3S-GTE. He says on alot of turbo Toyota's, you can bypass something so you wont get fuel cut. I'll talk to him and get more info.

Thanks

On a 3S-GTE there is a simple mod you can do to bypass FC, not sure about a 7M, I really doubt it.

Dude, S2000's are rather gutless around the whole rev range, while it does have guts up top, it is nothing compared to a turbocharged Toyota 6.

Roll, dig?

Roll=crappy yoko tires
Dig=slicks

im going to laugh if he has a 2j under the hood of his s2k.

then your screwed.

stock tho, gutless. bad powerband. N/A.. etc etc

I'm sure he is going to want to look under my hood to see that i'm basically stock. i'll do the same.

he posted a vid a month ago of him cruizing in his car with other s2ks. it's pretty much stock.

well if you can really drive and you turn up the boost to 10psi (just to be safe) you should beat the s2k from both a roll and a dig. i raced one @ the track and he ran like a 15.0 and i ran a 14.6 but my 60 foot was broke (like 2.6) an i was on stock boost with full 3 inch exhaust, k&n intake with a cooleeze accordian pipe replacement, custom i/c hardpipes with stock intercooler and 18 inch bbs rs2s (hence my shitty 60 foot). so on 10psi and slicks and ur other mods you should have him assuming nothing goes wrong.

What boost are you running? 11-12 psi *should* keep you out of fuel cut. Do you have IC hardpipes? If you don't, try to fab something up quick! They make a huge difference over stock, about as much of a difference as a full turbo back exhaust IMO.

S2000s aren't exactly slow, guys. Well, compared to a stock to lightly modded Supra... They don't make much low end power at all but they're not exactly slow. Especially considering the majority of Supras don't have tons of mods. Don't be surprised if one keeps up or inches ahead of you if you're not paying attention.

One of my good friend's has an S2000. I was able to put a hurting on him with my stock twins on without much trouble. But when I had my blitz turbos on really low boost, he could get a small jump and inch up on me while I was still spooling the damn things. Especially from a stop when I wasn't paying attention. Makes a different not having the response I had before and not that much more power at the time.

They're very light cars. It doesn't take a whole lot of power to make it move quickly. I drove it and it wasn't as fun compared to my Supra because the low-end just isn't there. But it's no slouch.

I don't expect him to be much of any competition once my turbos are back on and running more than 10psi...

I am in the process of makeing/buying an intercooler kit, but it wont be installed by the weekend... I have a thread on it in the 7M-GTE tech section.

Yea, I realize they are not slouch cars, thats why I'm kinda nervous lol.

I'll have a mbc on so I'll be at roughly 11-12psi if thats the max I can go without getting fuel cut. I have aftermarket guages but they wont be installed in time bc I still need to get 1 more.
