Ok, so for thanksgiving we got the big frier and fried our first turkey... It was AWESOME! Best turkey I ever had... Cooked in like 30 minutes, and the meat just fell off the bone... Tamara used one of Emeril's recipes, *BAM!!!* and it was so good, a little spicy like cajun, but just so damn juicey and tender!!!

But I was wondering, can you reuse that peanut oil to do another turkey, or is it done after one use? The oil is like $25, so if its cool to reuse, I'd like to...

Thanks man... Arent they good?!!! I've been wanting to try one for a long time, and finally busted one put... It was a trip when I put the turkey in, lol... Like a mad scientist, lol, all the boiling... And when I pulled it out, the skin was black, looked burnt, and I was thinking: OH NO! Its gunna be all burnt and crispy... But the skin was soft and tasted good, not burnt at all... I'll definately be making this a regular thing... We're gunna do another one for christmas...

So hey, how do you know the oil is no good anymore?

It comes with a hanger that you put through the turkey's ass ;) Then his ass just sits on it and you drop him in, kinda sucks when he's all gobble gobble, but you know what, its just to tasty! :)

you will know its done when it starts durnign black. no lie. It is reusable if you filter it... if you don't, then it won't capture the flavour as before... Don't ask me how i know this shit..

Deep fried turkey is the shit, much more juicy and tender. Just dont leave it unattended like that dumbass on the news a year or two ago that burned down his whole garage!

That wasn't a fried turkey you had, what it really was, was that 40lb cat in the other thread...

Yeah, you can re-use peanut oil a couple of times. I think I read that you just need to filter it in some cheese-cloth and then make sure to use it within a certain amount of time.

I am going to fry a turkey for my family this year. I've had it a few times, and that's all it took to make me want to do it on my own.
