I'm normally a big 'teh z0mg New Suprazzzzzz' thread buff...and explaining why it's NOT going to happen; But I'll make it plain and simple.
Toyota has put themselves where they want to be. Why, you ask?
TOYOTA - Economic, Clean, Affordable cars. Appeals to the typical Middle-American Family.
LEXUS - The Luxurous, higher end vehicles. Appeals to the folks with more money than they know what to do with.
SCION - Cheap & Affordable, "Stylish", Customizable, Economic. Appeals to the younger crowd, for sense of being able to make it 'custom' for a cheap price, yet still get away with the 'New Car' tag...all with a fairly reasonable price.
Who else do they have left to target? I think Mr. Toyoda would be proud today if he knew where Toyota sat today in the US Market.
That, and I *really* doubt the President of Toyota is worried about what a small handful of 'tuners' are wanting to see happen. Scions sell. Period.
As it's already been mentioned...*surprise*: If a "Supra"ish car DOES make it to production, it's likely to be badged as a sporty two door Lexus with absolutely zero comparable features other than 2 doors, 4 wheels and probably pretty fast.
