If super cop had opened his fucking ears and actually listened instead of being a gigantic douchecannon, he would have heard what was going on. Using his head for more than a hatrack would have been far more helpful at the time. Isn't there a hearing test before you can become a police officer?

Reading this just pisses me off. Peace officers who don't do their job and create havoc are nothing but power hungry pigs. This man obviously has no sympathy at all, the nurses came down from the hospital and yet the officer still made no attempts to release him. I call bullshit, thank you society for your corrupt law enforcement officials. This reminds me of the time when I was busted for fireworks at the age of 17. I was arrested and taken to a jail cell and then harassed verbally by these pigs. I was put on a year probation and 30 hours of community service. We were just kids.. what did we do to deserve such a brutal punishment?

cop should have known it was a medical emergency when they pulled up. i probably would have gone to jail for the rest of my life for this one. well not for an inlaw but if it was my real blood. at least the ladies made it in to see her before she passed. i hope they sued the shit out of the police.

I going to quote myself and point out the word "escalated". Like it or not the officer is in charge he has the authority and power to ruin or make your day. The best you can do or "Moats" in this case when you deal with law enforcement is de-escalate the situation. Keeping your mouth shut helps a lot. Moats kept making matters worse.

Several blocks????Really? He went over the bridge and turned right on what looked like a driveway into the hospital. The cop was never close to him with the "red and blues". He did not flee anything! He had his emergency flashers on the entire way, and I guaranty he knew exactly where that hospital was. I'm white myself, but I definitely agree race played a part here. This was a family, a man and his wife with an older couple. It wasn't a bunch of young thugs.

I can agree with the cops actions for the first two minutes of the situation. After 30 seconds of hearing what was happening It would seem like he ws either playing the race thing, or the 'respect my authoriti' (carthman voice) card. This shouldnt have been longer than a minute. Much less 13 minutes.

No, but in this case he should have escorted the people to the hospital...

Zero tolerance, zero flexibility and zero humanity aren't qualities I want in a government agent with a gun.

There is so much wrong with what went on here, on both sides, it's not funny. The officer will most likely be fired, and that's not entirely a bad thing. But damn, you guys have no idea what they deal with, especially in Dallas, that makes them the way they are.
The officer should have handled this inside the hospital, then had he seen they were telling the truth, let it all go and offer them his sympathies.

This will only become another "Fuck the Po-Leece" thread and no good will come of it.

theres one thing I'll always remember, we're all just people before anything else. if someone has a job that means they should uphold the law.. fine. but there has to be some heart to it not a ego, common sense and not some cold hard attitude.

I have a strong disagreement with law enforcement, but I still try and put up for what they should stand for.. even if most officers of the law dont.

I never saw him speeding through a parking lot in the vid, and how do you escalate the situation by telling the officer over and over that YOUR MOTHER IS DIEING? I understand that it could have been taken as BS, but they were at the hospital ER not in some empty parking lot in the middle of nowhere. Now I know the officer was pissed that they kept going, but if he was working that area he too should have known where they were going. If was working that area he would have figured out they were headed to the hospital by the direction they were driving. I am not mad at him for doing his job, but he should have atleast found out for sure what was going ob before the 10min discution on "SHUT YOUR MOUTH".

My story from tonight. I went to my Brother-in law's house for a few drinks, and partied with him his cousin, and his next door neighbor. That neighbor is a cop who has been demoted to watching over the impound lot, because he shot and killed a guy. One night we'll get him drink enough to tell the story. Anyway, my son (12) and his cousin (13) came down away from the video games (sister in law was watching them and not drinking) and came to the garage while we shot pool. Within about 30 minutes, he had found himself picking on and wrestling with both young boys. Trust me, he didn't do anything worth getting his ass kicked, or he would have had it. I just saw into that why someone had to die. That guy must get off on controlling those who he knows he can get away with it on.
