Ok...
I was changing the brake pads on the supra, so i jacked the passenger front side of the car up (with the road side jack that came with the car), took off the wheel, changed the pads... Then noticed the jack tilting backwards!:aigo:

I pulled the car forward using the rotter, the car then came forward, and it kept comming forward until the jack dropped and the car slammed to the ground with my hand stuck under the rotter!!!

I was stuck with a 3500 lbs car on top of my hand, until my roommate lifted it up just enough to slip my hand out! (What a beast!)

Anyway no broken bones, just bruises, kuts, and lots of pain!!!:3d_frown:

You had the rotor sitting on your hand and all you got were bruises?!

Yea, I find that hard to believe too...If the car slipped off of the jack, and the rotor landed on top of your hand...You would probably end up missing part of your hand...at least a few broken bones...

Ditto, buy that damn ticket! Your lucky man, BTW, it wasn't the whole weight of the car, if it was, you would be missing your hand from the point where the rotor landed on it and back, but still, is was several hundred pounds ;).

Your a very lucky guy to have not lost a finger, or hand in this deal. Much worse could have happened, depending on how fast the car fell, and how much weight was on that particular corner when it did.

Concrete blocks are not jack stands either! I have seen them shatter, and cars drop onto the ground. Lucky there was nobody under them at the time.

Imagine if you had been laying under the car? You would have been crushed, and either would have died from internal injuries, or been suffocated by the pressure.

Neither is a great way to die.

I don't carry a spare tire anymore, or a jack for that matter. (Roadside assistance is very cool.)

What I do carry is a large can or two of semi truck sized fix a flat. (Never has failed to get me to a tire store, or home for that matter when I've had a flat tire.)

If you do jack up your car with the stock jack, don't stick anything you want to keep under the car/rotor and jack for that matter.

Actually it was...your luck just worked a bit different than expected ;)
You're very lucky you did not get hurt a lot worse than you did!

johnathan was just being blunt...next time don't even consider working on a car without jack stands. Regardless if you don't have them handy...you could have just as easily had the car sitting on your chest instead of your hand.

I can't imagine the rotor coming down and not breaking/cutting off your hand. Your very lucky! I guess a valuable lesson was learned, factory jacks are for emergencies only. I hope your hand and rotor have no permanent damage.
