Mishimoto is supposed to fit with no modification, along with the clutch fan, shroud, and ac fans. My first one was way off, so I told them about it and eventually sent me another, which was better. Not perfect, but it was close enough to motivate me to make the minor modifications necessary to install it. That was like at the end of last year, so maybe they fit like a glove now.

Yes, the Mishimoto does have the drain; and the plug comes from the factory with teflon tape on the drain bolt's threads.

I took the stock radiator out today, and will take some comparison pics tomorrow; and start test fitting the radiator to make sure everything bolts up/fits. (Of course, the rubber grommets that the radiator sits in at the bittom will need to be shaved a bit so the hood will still close; but that's the only fitment issue I'm hoping to face).

The cap (btw, use one that has the same pressure rating as the cooling system) will leave an imprint on the insulation, but the hood will close.

Ya a lot of things are described as direct replacement but in reality are nowhere close, just havent seen any real proof yet that the Mishimoto fits with the shroud

The Mishimoto fits with the stock fan and shroud. Fitment of the shroud could be a bit better at the top, but I installed everything in mine with little to no problems. The only modification I had to make, was to shave the rubber mounts at the bottom of the radiator.

I have some pics that I took of the install process, I just need to get around to posting them. :p

Got the pics off my camera, but have an insane work schedule this weekend. I have Monday off, and can post the pics then if I can't find the time tomorrow.

Just bump up this thread to remind me. :)

I got a koyo R core a couple weeks ago, fits like a glove, only thing to remember is that when using it with a 7m, you need to plug the sensor hole on the lower tank, I found another coolant temp. sensor off of a camry at pick n pull, and the lower bolt hole for the aux fans doesn't line up, but other than that ive been running with it without any problems

Thanks for the info, im probably going to end up with this radiator. You also need to fab something to secure the lower part of the shroud, correct?

I'm finally posting pics of the Mishimoto radiator as promised. :D

First off, I want to give props to StatRacing for their incredibly fast shipping of this radiator. The price of the Mishimoto radiator from them is $240 shipped. I ordered my radiator on a Friday, and Fedex showed up to deliver my radiator THE VERY NEXT DAY! (On a Saturday, no less). Now that's customer service! ::salute::

And now, for the pics you've been waiting for. Sorry if they're a little big, but I sized them down as much as I dared while still showing as much detail as I could.

My car is an automatic, so a tranny cooler was a MUST! I already had one installed with my stock radiator, and I have mine mounted to the back of the A/C condenser. Here's a pic of the tranny cooler I'm running...

You may also notice that the radiator has slightly smaller inlet/outlet pipes than the stock radiator, so my radiator hoses weren't tight enough using the stock constant pressure clamps. I ended up having to switch to worm gear clamps for the time being, but I'm reserving judgment on that issue for now as my hoses need to be replaced; and I'm hoping the new hoses will fit tight with constant pressure clamps once I replace them.

My only complaint is the shroud fitment at the top of the radiator, but that small amount of gap has had no ill effects in the operation of the cooling fan or aux fan. The shroud, aux fan, and factory mounts bolted up just fine; and needed no modification whatsoever. Installation took no longer than it would have if I would have re-installed the factory radiator.

I highly recommend the Mishimoto for it's price, performance, and ease of install. Anyone who needs to replace their tired, stock radiator and finds themselves on a tight budget, should really take a close look at buying a Mishimoto radiator. For the $240 that you'll spend, you really can't go wrong.

My stocker finally let go Sunday afternoon and after reading through this thread Sunday night I went ahead and ordered the Mishimoto from statracing. It'll be here Thursday (it was shipped from MI so that explains why deabionni got it next day but 3 days to FL for ground isn't bad and makes me happy I didn't waste the extra $65 on their 3 day shipping).

To make a long story short: if anyone wants more pics of the Mishimoto install than are already available let me know and I'll post them up this weekend.

Awesome info! I picked up a Koyo RO171 (JZA70) and i will be using it with my 7M. I will try to get some good comparison pics and see how the shroud installation goes when i put it in.

^^^No issues whatsoever. Keep in mind, however, that I did shave the upper part of those bottom mounts in half.

On a side note, the Mishimoto comes with a radiator cap rated for 19 lbs. The first thing I did after pulling the radiator out of the box, was to dump the cap for my Stant radiator cap rated at 13 lbs. (You can see the Stant cap in the last few pics). Our car calls for a 13 lbs cap, so using the supplied 19 lbs cap that comes with the Mishimoto radiator is just asking for trouble!

^^ thanks. Lastly does the factory toyota cap fit on the radiator. I cannot really tell if my toyota cap on my 92 would fit on it. Also I think I am going to run the higher pressure cap on my car just for the sole reason that if for some reason the car would run hot it will keep the coolant a fluid vs a gas up to a higher temperature, obviously this does come at the cost of more potential for leakage but I do think it is a worthwhile trade off. I am pretty close to pulling the trigger on this radiator.
