so i'm in the search for aftermarket tow hook options.. no i'm not trying to do it to look cool, but i think it would be a good idea to have one since i have a front lip and i'm pretty damn low. what do you guys do with lowered cars with lips and need your car to be towed whether it be at the track or street. i wouldn't want anything flashy. just something that wouldn't destroy my lip since its not as flexible as the oem one.

I hope you get a good answer in here. I will be adding a tow hook to the front of mine when I get a lip. I saw my car get pulled onto a flat bed and cringed the entire time. I didn't know the front bumper was so flexible...and it needed to be.

LOL. Just go into Google.com/images, and type: JDM tow hook.

Here's supra8903's old car, with that style hook on the front- click to enlarge:

i had the same problem with my first supra....and they sent the wrong tow truck. (i needed a flat bed) if you find any good ones, let me know because these wud be pretty useful to have with a dropped car.

my stock lip was allready bending going on a flat bed before. But now with a 1.5 drop i think it would tear it right off..

Real JDM supras had a front tow hook.

The only reason I stated to search for JDM tow hook is because everyone calls them that. ;)

you can barely see it, but you can see my buddy's tow hook popping out of the hood

Yea Theres a Universal one and one that bolts right onto the car. I'm sure if we snoop around the Jap EPC we'll find a part. ;)

I'll try snooping our epc and who knows.

Wait, are you guys saying that your car doesn't have a front tow hook at all? Or that you want one mounted higher so that it's easier to access?

You could use the bolt on location for the factory one like I have. Driver side subframe behind the splash sheild.

That is certainly one option and a smart one if one ever finds themselves in that situation. However, I think the aftermarket tow hook is a good idea since you don't need tools or to lie on the ground.

Can't you go through the bumper to the stock tow hook? Or am I thinking of a different car?

And if your car is low and/or has a lip/bumper on it, it's still going to get crunched on the flat bed unless it's a super sweet one that can get almost flat.

Or am I just crazy thinking this stuff?
