Werd, close loop suxes.

why?

Could be that it can't guess when the stock ecu sends the spark. It can only 'delay' it (?)

possible...but if it's intercepting signals i don't see why it can't. heck, the eman + MAFT pro can advance....

should be interesting to see how the AEM thing would handle the retardo multiplex setup....

Well doesnt the maf-t pro have target A/F. where you set what A/F ratio you want and the maf-t targets that. if i read correctly, the f/ic doesnt have that feature nor is it currently compatable with a wide band input, though it seems it may be able to in the future with a firm ware update.

BTW good info on it http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php/topic,19885.0.html

yups. the MAFT pro can do that @ WOT and part throttle. the difference is that the AEM manipulates the injectors directly whereas the MAFT pro is scaling the AFM input to the ECU.

Doc, any word on whether the MAFT-pro might get direct injector control down the line?

That would seriously kick ass.

yeah, that would pretty much rule. unfortunately, it's not possible w/the current hardware. i'll check and see what's in the cards for the next device....if there is one.

You know, I think the boys (Bob) over there really should work on making a standalone of their own.

Seriously. Not even near kidding.

I wouldn't really want AFR tracking.
In open loop all the times, you tell it exactly what AFR to burn at all times... and leave nothing to computing.

And to add more to the timing, DrJ said as well, part throttle and off boost timing makes worlds of difference.

There really isn't a need for 2 maps as far as "high" and "low" boost pressures are concerned. It's one map that should go from vacuum till 50psi. (opps, was the discussion for 2 maps this thread or Jakes thread.. hehe )
