repair costs wont be that high if you do it yourself, what exactly are you getting rid of it for, what happened that made it so unnatractive to keep? People here will guid you through the repairs if you want to keep it.

I would say a 240sx. RWD, NA, plenty of available parts and you could even do an engine swap 'later in life' to get some boost.

MR2's are nice, but can be kind of expensive and hard to work on.
RX7s are hard to find a mechanic for, but are easy to work on if you're mechanically inclined and have a place to work on it.

Celicas look nice, but are FWD and don't have much power(135hp on the mid 90's GT), so if you want FWD I'd actually recomend an Integra.

so lets figure this out, you want a sports car that's cheap,

well, grow a mullet and buy a camaro, cuz those and mustangs are the only cheap "sports cars" that you can mod and repair on the cheap anymore.

Get a Mk I :p

think it works in reverse actualy the older the more money

more money for what? insurance or parts? my car is dirt cheap for insurance- just about full coverage for $138/mo...and that's with a bunch of tickets for two drivers AND a street racing ticket on me.

parts get cheaper every year for mkIIs. I know that for a fact. a couple of years ago alternators were $120 now they're like $106.

dont get an rx7 they are probably higher maintenance then a MK3 id bet.. MK3's arent cheap to fix and do require alot of attention. I suggest some sort of small honda like a crx or hatchback.

get a PROBE
Yea get one of those! My brother has one, and Ive been driving it for about a month since the supra is down, and let me tell you those cars got some balls! The Mazda engines are nice, and even better is they come in turbo models as well! I dont think they are to expensive, and since it's american, shouldnt be to hard to find parts.

If you are looking for cheap performance, you are going to have to look into domestic muscle, no two ways about it.
Even Grim agrees
a mullet is in your future

I suggest a honda dude. Be realistic, if you want reliable, but still sporty, go honda. i had a 91 lude and it sure was quick around town. I ran it with black oil and still drove perfect. I drifted it everyday in the snow and hit all sorts of things, still looked perfect. Easy to customize, i did my whole sound system. Think about it. Oh they are cheap too.
Check out my pic, you can see the red panels I did in vinyl. Changed from cloth to vinyl, then did the whole top half black vinyl. So easy.
