That is one of the sickest and funniest things I have ever heard. How can you be so ingenius, yet so twisted at the same time?..................;)

IJ, I'm pretty sure I could party with you... You're f'ed up enough.. LOL

On a more serious note folks:

No need to PM me with the obligitory "I hope it wasn't my sig" message. I've gotten a LOT of them today... :)

There was no special complaint about anyone's signature. It's just I've noticed a trend towards off-topic stuff starting to leak out into the forum via signatures. I just wanted everyone to stop and think BEFORE it is a problem.

We've got enough (probably too many) damned rules around here already. Let's not find reasons to make more.

I think he's letting us use our own better judgement. It is up to you to decide if it's O.K. or not. That's why he labeled it a request. I'm sure you will make the right decission.......................lol

I can't see your sig so I can't give you my thoughts on it!!!
That's because I used judgement with it but it did say"Don't let gready politician , fear mongers, (other things I forgot) grab you by your shrunken tesaticles. It went something like that.

I have an eMachine, 2.2ghz celery processor, 40gb hd... Used to only have a 256k memory stick thing, but I bought a 512k memory stick so it would help, but it didnt so much... I dunno what else to do... why is my comp so slow? I have dsl too... :(

Heh, not sure if that was meant sarcastically or not, but the biggest reason is your processor. Celeron's have a very small processor cache (not to be confused w/ RAM), which don't allow them to do as much as a processor of the same clock speed (i.e. 2.2Ghz) with more processor cache. For comparison, most Celerys have about a 256kb cache, versus most Pentiums' 1-2mb cache.

And 512mb RAM is no where near enough to help out with the load with Celery proc and WinXP.

My rule of thumb, when you get your next computer, be sure it has a large processor cache, an Intel Core Solo should be enough, and avoid the VIIV's. Ask the guy about processor cache size, and make sure its at least 1mb, if your budget allows, look for a Core Duo with 2mbs.

And please, for the love of God, don't get another eMachine!
:)

Get AMD dual proccesor with 1 gig ram if you want speed. But hey the comp I'm using now was a $300 walmart special that only had 258k now it has roughly 750 ish and is running quite a bit faster since I added the ram, and I have the same processor as you... However we have many computers and this is my "it's not too major if I get a virus" computer. My company does web programming and web hosting so we have to have a lot of computers... But I think the $300 HP from Walmart has faired me considering all I do is surf on it. So I understand why you bought the E-machine and I wouldn't worry about spending lots of money on a comp if all you do is surf with it.

Sorry about going way off the topic of sigs.

LOL you kids... I do, however, enjoy the amount of rules here. Not overabundant, yet not slack enough to get out of control.

BTW, nice new avatar mike! lol what is it about princess bride? hahaha it seems like it's new again :p
