This has been pissing me off and I can't figure out whats going on. A few days ago I decided to make an intake pipe because the stock accordian was all cracked-out.(I got pics if anyone cares to see) After making/installing this intake, the a/f ratios have been high, low, and everywhere in-between.

It goes like this: Start the car(cold), car idles ~600rpm (lower than usual when cold) and a/f r's go from the 14's to high 16's and 17's and then to this, - - -:aigo: . So I'm like WTF! Fuel press is about 25psi w/vac. I try turning up fuel pressure to lower the a/f r's, ~35psi gets it to high 14's low 15's under idle. I know this isn't right and shouldn't have to raise fuel pressure like this. So anyway, I drive the car and they're staying steady in the mid 15's, it'll drop under acceleration, but goes back to the 15's as vehicle speeds evens out to cruise.

I drove the car to the store like this and after getting back in, I fire it up and a/f r's are about the same, high 15's, but then go pig rich in the 12's at idle and at cruise.

At the gas station I had to turn down fuel pressure to get it to idle at 14.7ish.

Anyone have any ideas? Can this intake be f-ing up my afm? is my w/b f-ed? o2 sensor? No codes BTW. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I made all the stock provisions except the bpv port. Even made one for the vac line for the ps pump.

Air entering the intake without passing through the AFM...that's why I asked about those two lines. Check to make sure there are no leaks in any of the vac lines.

I've checked everything several times over and everything is air tight. The only things I messed with were those three lines and re-located the ps res. I made provisions for all. Are are air tight. The only other thing I can think of is I that I made the isc and pcv provisions right next to each other. Example: on the stock accordian, the isc is the first hose after the afm, the others are just before the turbo inlet. There is space between the isc and pcv ports on the stocker, but the one I made, they are close together. Could this have an effect.

Here's a pic so you can get an idea

Nope, I set it aside while working on this cause I know what delicate pos it can be. I've even tried swapping it with my spare.......same thing happens:cry:

Yes he does. Along with an apparently odd taste in sexual partners. The sad part is he's clueless enough that your comment is only likely to encourage him. I wonder if he talks like that to strangers in public. I also wonder why he'd expect help from them if he does. Oh wait, this forum couldn't possibly be considered public. My mistake...

Yeah - the "colorful language" is really unnecessary ;)

I seriously apologize for the uncouth language guys. I'm not here to offend anyone and if I have, again, I'm sorry for that. I do like to joke around a bit, but I understand that this is not the place for a foul mouth, as there are people in here that do not appreciate such talk. I'm not some punk kid with no respect, but rather quite the opposite, so I'll respect your wishes and edit accordingly. I have much appreciation for all members of this board and do not want to get on anyones bad side, or to make them feel that their help is unappreciated or demanded. Again, thank you all for your help.;)

JJ, Jdub

Thankyou both for your knowledgable advice. I've been working on this all morning and I think I might have it figured out, but I'm not 100% sure as of yet. The pirate air theory make sense to me too, but why would it richen-up after say, a short drive/cool down period?

JJ, as for the pcv test you mentioned, this problem was pressent before I made the pcv provision. I was going to just vent the pcv, but after searching, I found that not be be such a good idea for a few reasons, so I made a port for the pcv and the problem is still there.
