IJ. said:If you run a stock tach and a standalone at the same time you will notice the stock tach is inaccurate by around about 200rpm.
I would trust what the standalone was telling me over the stock tach as stock is dampened quite a lot so a little sluggish.
Probably because the 1G has a 6500rpm redline where as the 1JZ has a 7000rpm redline.Doward said:Wait wait wait - I just saw a pic of the 1G-GTE tach - why is it showing redline @ like 6500rpm, while the 1JZ shows redline @ 7k?

I notice that the stock 1JZ tach is really sluggish too. If I hit the rev limiter (7500) in 2nd gear, the tach reads 7k . I just stopped looking at it, and started shifting when it hit the limiter.

I just might take a picture of a 9k or the 10k TRD tach then print my own back ground up and use the factory 7m tach with a diffrent back ground since there is an ECU output for the tach thats adjustable with my standalone setup!
You're incorrectly assuming I run a stock ecu.......OneJoeZee said:No that sounds about right. Pretty sure the rev limit is 7250(IIRC), not 7500. So if it's about 200 off give or take, then it would show aroudn 7k like you mentioned.
