Very nice, Rob! Guess I'm going to have to find a set! that fold-in function would greatly help with the storage aspect :)

They look great Rob. Where'd you pick them up from?

There's a set on ebay right now; but, man they're pricey!

I see there is a set on ebay for about a hundo witch is a ok price. You have to pay to play. I found a member that looked around over there for them and in the correct color for my supra. Yes it took about 6 months to get them but well worth the wait to have the correct color.

EDIT: I just looked at that ebay auction on the computer (before I only loaded it on my EVO 4G) and wow, man those mirrors are in tough shape. They would be good for some one who is planning on re spraying them as soon as they receive them. And the $65 shipping cost is almost spot on. IIRC shipping cost alone for mine accounted for about $50 u.s. of what I pd.

Thank you Steve. Yes they will greatly help when the supra is in the garage. No more hitting them with my hips and worrying about snapping them off. I think the u.s. spec ones look a little smoother but I will take the trade off for having a supra here in the states with euro mirrors.

Yeah, those white ones are rough...

Did you have to swap out the glass....is it much different?

Nope no glass swapping is needed. That is the best part of them. Over accross the pond they drive on the correct side of the car ;)

Well instead of waiting in line at the local wal-mart for a black Friday sale like I was planning (wanted to pick up the 50" plasma flat screen for $499 to replace the smaller flat screen I already have in the garage) I went out to the garage and figured I would get some shit doe with the supra.

First, placed it up on jack stands again for the winter (hopefully for the last winter)

Then I decided to start working on getting the brake ducts in place. Since the left one will cover the oil filter and what not I decided to drop the filter.

p1643647_2.jpg

Wile it was draining I started to fabricate the brackets needed for the right side.

p1643647_3.jpg

p1643647_4.jpg

p1643647_5.jpg

And the left side is done. I think the bottom bolts needs to be replaced with some button head screws.

p1643647_7.jpg

p1643647_8.jpg

p1643647_9.jpg

And the right side.

Now to just Replace the hot side IC piping with the other hard pipe kit I have.

Envy strikes me again... :/

Very nice looking install Rob!

Thank you bud :) now are they functional......... I don't think so to much since the bottom of the ducks are open but it might be more a aero thing.

I think they are supposed to seal up against the engine splash guard that is usually missing from our cars. That's my guess

I'm not real sure how they will or do work. I'm sure some sort of aero thing goes on. Just like how the lower engine cover, covers up the bottom end of the engine but yet helps keep it cool. The engine cover goes between them so it don't seal them up. Maybe it is more of a " guidance of air " rather then a "duct" ? But Toyota engineers are more educated on this stuff then I am. I'm sure there is a reason, I just don't know what that is.

curse my tongue, but could they be upside down? If not, then do you have any plans of sealing them up? I'd cut a flat sheet of aluminum and go to town with them, they look like they'd be pretty effective if sealed..

The ducks marked right and left, and if you were to "filp & flop" them the front of them don't line up with the lip. No plans on sealing them up. If I want to I would just make a new set out of alum. and not use them. Plus I don't want to to drill or modify these in any way, there very hard to find ;)

I have searched but have not been able to find a MK3 video in a wind tunnel. It would be interesting to see how air acts on the front of one.

Rob... you need the splash guards

The engine undercover helps to keep the engine cool because it keeps the air coming through the front grill going to the radiator. if the guard is not there, the air goes through the grill but then just sucks down underneath the car. with that guard in place, your oil cooler, intercooler, and radiator will all work more efficiently.

for the brake ducts, it doesn't look like they go anywhere near the engine cover... it would probably be easier for you to to fabricate some sort of shield like sheet metal or plastic to cover up the bottoms of the ducts so that air is directed to the brakes instead of underneath the car...

Because they go with the turbo R lip I bought for the front end, they belong with the car, very few supra owner's have them, and even more owner's want to buy them from me, ect. That's way, lol.

As for the Vette, well I pretty much only drive it and not the supra this passed summer, so I pretty much did abandoned the supra, at least to garage duty. ;)

All in good time my young jeti friend, I will buy/put a splash guard on. I know the well documented advantages of having one. Remember as of now Im lucky to put 1>2K miles on it a year.( too many cars that need driving during the summer time) Also I don't have any cooling problems (as of yet) so it isn't on the top of my list. In fact I'm really surprised how well this 7m cools. In the middle of the summer with the a/c rocking ice cold, oil temps stays at or under 200, and coolant temp needle don't move from 3/8 - 7/16 gauge.
