thanks mate.

I wish I had a front lip!

shipping from the states kill my interest in buying one :(
yeah...funny story actually! i paid the price of my lip in shipping so it was like buying 2 lips on my Bomex 3 hole because it was from japan. 183 for the lip and like 130 or something for the shipping. But due to a vendor error....they sent me another lip like 2 weeks after receiving the first one....so i sold it at price :)

you dont have the details of the company in japland do you?

It would be a lot cheaper shipping to here than the US so maybe its affordable..

Update-

got all of the soldering done on the new ev1 connectors for the injectors. I just have to put everything back together now.

Another nasty thing I found out about the car is that the previous owner decided it would be a good idea to put 20 locknuts on the wheels. Yes 20! every single FREAKING lug nut is a locknut, and I dont have a key! :(

I am currently searching for the corrent pattern as no socket seems to want to get over them :(

when I got the car he told me he had lost the key.

I wasnt that worried as i thought it was only 1 per wheel, plus you can normally smash a socket on the end.

but ALL of them being locknuts is a different story!

A Pin socket may work if you can get one into the wheel hole Andy.

Or maybe one of these

that was one of the methods I was looking at. I think I have found a better one thought :)

there is a product called selleys Knead It. Its a 2 part epoxy that has the consistency of bluetack. What you do is get the closest fitting socket (I think it was a 17mm), then put oil on the locknut itself and the epoxy on the inside of the cheap socket. Next you jam the socket over the lock nut to make a mold and take it straight off again. The Selleys product sets as hard as steel so you essentially mold yourself a new lock nut key.

thoughts?

yeah thats true.

if I can get one off i have a lot better chance of being able to match it anyway. I have spoken to the local repco and they have a catalogue of the most common australian lock nut keys. They can order them in if I can get one off.

ok good news!

I have found out that they are not lock nuts... they are tuner nuts, just a "harder" to steal nut as they dont use a standard thread. You can buy them from anywhere and they require a tool to fit around the nut.

attached is an image of what they look like.
