Videos of that Mk3 were posted on SF about 5+ years ago. It's a 1jz. The owner used to post there from time to time.

Also, it will take waaay more than 800hp for 8s.

for a 3500-3700lb car you will need way more than 800hp to run 8's.

that setup on the car (twin blitz turbos) wont support that HP at all.

Vijay (big daddy) runs low 9's with about 1000whp throught a TH400 in his mk3, and his is a little lighter than stock.

for reference. Darin from Titan weights about 3600lbs and makes about 1400whp and just started going 8's consistently.

Our pro street tire MKIV weighed in at 2950 lbs and at 1200+ rwhp you could squeeze low 8's and the occasional 7.9x out of it.

a car setup specifically to go straight is totally differnt from a street car going 8. our pro car weight the same and makes a little power than that and runs low 8's- 7.70's .....

Not with 3400 + lb MKIII it won't.

Well you're right if it's a 3400 lb car and (as upgradedsupra pointed out) it would have to be an automatic trans.

Realistically if E.T.'s are your goal and you are going to do what it takes to make in excess of 800 hp, I would also think you would be putting your supra on a diet.

Let's say you knocked the weight down on an '87 to 3200 lb's (not unreasonable) my calculations say about 870 hp would put you just under a 9.0 at @152 or 153.

I forgot what a tank the supra is but, I wasn't that far off.:icon_razz

I local guy in his MK4 used to put down consistant high 9's at 143-145mph on a single disk clutch- HPF Feramic.. Of course that is on a bigger MK4 clutch. Not to mention it only lasted 17 runs before the disk needed to be "re-pucked"
