Im Puerto Rican and know that they use MPH there. As far as the track being an 1/8 mile track... who knows but thats one hell of a MPH for an 1/8 track. Sweet video either way.

At 144MPH trap, the car would be putting down over 800 RWHP ;)

The axles should hold, no idea why they wouldn't..? You need more than 800RWHP to run an 8 also. What 60foots is he pulling?

800 hp at rear wheels will put you in the high 8's w/ the right gearing trans etc.

Most 800 hp cars are dyno queens...which won't get you in the 8's.

My old A-altered (back in the day) used to run 8's with just injectors and no electronic's (granted it was lighter) and a lot less than 800 hp.

Obviously you speak of an auto which is not what we are talking about. The car in this video is a manual and it would clearly need more than 800 to do 8's. ;)

Moved to video section.

A "Street" car is a term we get all the time where I live. The track opens and we get guys calling their 7 second cars a daily driver and are true street cars. Streetable to me means that you could drive it to the insurance company and have no issues or drive on a long trip like 8 or more hours without a worry and without issues. A tubbed car is definitely not a street car IMO.

Duane
My insurance company took one look at my car and gave me the finger:3d_frown:

honestly, in my opinion, a street car is something you would let your mother drive to pick up groceries, drop off mail at the post office, go to the bank, having the chance of her putting in 87 octane(cause shes cheap) and not ever have to worry about if her little bundle of joy left the a/c compressor in it or not. Cd player works, exhaust is loud enough where you can still hold a conversation on the highway, she doesnt have to be 5'10" and 200lbs+ to be able to push in the clutch and the most important, knowing that your mom wont call you saying "there is a light on the dash that looks like a cute little orange birdcage and white smoke is coming out of tailpipe"(1j/2j disregard). Thats my version of a street car.
