Well the stutter from 5000 rpm is gone. Now at 4000 it seems to stall until about 4800. It's not really a stall it's just that when your gettin on it it just loses power in there and then after 4800 it picks up again? What would cause that exactly?!?!?!?

I was just thinking it might be pulling timing if its hot out and he was running 87.

To OP: Its hard for anyone to help if we don't know specifics or what you have checked. Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and watched it at WOT?

Yeah it's probably more than the fuel thing, but I believe if that isn't taken care of his next thread will be "what's this knocking coming from".

Hell I'd even give him a stock one if he'd pay for the shipping, I have one around here some place, or he could borrow a tester at autozone and set the one he has .

I just got a 1988 Toyota supra like a month ago. The guy who had it before me didn't take care of it at all. I changed the oil, put in ngk iridium ix plugs, new wires, distributor cap and rotor button and fuel filter. I also added an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator cause the other one went out. I have also gutted the cat and put all new 2.5 inch piping back. But the car still continues to run pig rich even after I adjust it to the right settings and it idles erratically and when I go WOT it stutters from 4 to 4500 rpm then quits and starts again at 5500 but won't go past the 5500. The guy who owned it before me took out the egr. It also has some noise in the head at lower Rpm that isn't valve tick. I have also checked all vacuums and they are all good. Someone please help me on this cause I can't figure it out. Any insight wouldn't appreciated.

OK...

-Why the iridium plugs?
-Did you gap the plugs?
-I highly doubt the FPR went out
-Have you tried checking for codes?

Ok I have checked ohm resistance on all sensors. All vacuums good. New ngk iridium ix plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor button. Cut fuel line by the tank and re ran a 3/8 line to front with fuel filter relocated under hood. Adjustable fuel pressure regulator but the guage dont work right. Now where could I check fuel pressure at in there? And I changed to the iridium plugs because I've ran them in every vehicle I have owned and they never gave me any problems. I checked the gap cause they were pre-capped and they were all set to the factory .44. And when I tried hooking up the factory fuel pressure regulator it wouldn't let any gas through it so I know it don't work. I've checked for codes and there are none. I've went all over this thing and still can't figure it out. I've also checked timing and all that. So where would be a good place to check fuel pressure at? I have a guage that has a hose on it for vacuum and fuel pressure. Just don't know of a good place to do it. Just let me know. Any answers would be much appreciated cause I can't figure it out.

The only thing I didn't check the ohm resistance on was the injectors.

They say not to gap iridiums, but of course they nee to be gapped like every other plug to work properly. They're also a huge waste of money...

Being there's a banjo bolt on the cold start injection port how to you test the fuel pressure with the type of guage I have? Or is there a different guage to use?

And the fuel pressure should be in between 33-40psi correct?
