water injection?
a .96 ar will be laggy as all hell on the street, especially on an 88mm turbo. what kind of injectors/fuel system will you run? and when you say AEM do you mean EMS or FIC?

I have a full AEM EMS setup. For fueling we'll be using a Weldon 2345 pump, and 1600cc injectors. As for the laggyness of the GT47, we'll take care of that with the direct port nitrous setup thats sitting on the shelf :).

on the track i'm sure but damn, on the street (off-spray) you're going to give even my LS a big confidence-boosting second off the line before you totally destroy me lol

mind you that transbrake will help a LOT, you plan on competing with this car? i know a lot of tracks won't allow transbrakes or two-steps in the lower divisions because it would just cause even the low-displacement turbo-cars to decimate all the NAs in the division :p

I will run the spray even on the streets. You can set it up through the aem to engage and dis-engage at certian target points, so it would just be there to spool. This isnt going to be a light to light racer. Its meant for the track, but ill drive it on the weekends if its nice and do some highway pulls.

what gearing are you planning for the TH400 (if using a gearset) and what rear end? i'm curious how you're going to do highway pulls :p

sounds like this is going to be a sick build.

Its a 3.73 lsd gearset. Guys run th400's on the streets all the time. Yes it would have been nice to have an overdrive unit, just for the longer drives. For the amount of time ill be spending on the streets with it, its not needed, and just added weight!

Youtube some of the mk4 guys running th400's on the streets.... you'd be suprised at how streetable the tranny really is.

Bah!

That car is a danger to the public and should not be driven on the streets! What if a small child gets sucked into that snail? Think of the children! ;)

Yes, the manifold is only tacked together. It still needs to be finished welded, and the dual wastegates setup. Im waiting to do the gates untill after the header is completly welded, because im anticipating it to warp/move alittle once its welded.

Ill probably run the manifold for a year to make sure everything is leak free, and that i wont have any issues of it cracking. Then ill have it ceramic coated,.

Stellar idea! Also don't forget to leave a good beading line around the weld spots as to close any and all possible microscopic gaps. Also make sure you use a flexiable cylindral wire brush adapter on a high powered drill so you can run it through the inside to smooth out all of the inside for clean flow, especially before you coat it so you don't have to do it twice. ;)

We are going to back purge the entire manifold when we weld it, so there shouldnt be any cleanup to do on the inside.

This is what it should look like on the inside when back purged properly:

Built GE, braided nylon hoses up top. Oil feed and drain are braided stainless. The drain line has a heat sheathing over it to protect it from the header. Feed is Teflon, braided stainless.
