Not showing any oil pressure on my gauge, tested the gauge and sender they both work. Replaced the pump and checked the cooler/turbo lines for leaks is it possible for a couple or even all the squirters in the block to be bad and dropping my oil pressure to 0-1 PSI at idle? I looked around and coulden't find any info on the topic so if there is a thread up already I apologize in advance thanks guys.

have you checked your oil level?
oil pressure at idle is low I think around 3-5 psi
how is when you're driving does it go up to 35-40 psi?

how high does your pressure go up on take off and through the gears it should go up to about 40 then come down a little in 4th and 5th while cruising

[strike]revving it in nuetral won't make it do hardly anything if nothing at all[/strike] - Edit: Disregard this statement, it's dangerous nonsense. -- S.C.

NOT what the TSRM Page LU-4 says.
TSRM says idle should be 4.3PSI or more, and at 3000 RPM, 36PSI or more.

If you are getting less than that, shutting down is the correct response.

Do you still have the stock gauge? Sounds like you're using aftermarket. Where did you connect it for sending pressure?

To the OP your profile says that you have a 7MGTE but for the model year it says you don't have one indicating this is in a different chassis. A search for your name indicates that your part of the 240sx community.
So the first question is what vehicle is this engine in. And if it is not a MKIII are you sure the gauge is compatible with the sender.

Clearly if you have no oil pressure you do not want to run the engine. The best thing you can do hook up a test gauge, pull the efi fuse, pull the spark plugs. Then turn the engine over for 10 sec, if you do not see pressure by then, something is wrong with the oil pump system and need to be diagnosed.

To answer your first question, as the oil squirters age the pressure at which they open does lower, due to tired springs, however they do not flow enough while open to completely kill the pressure.

it didnt specify wether the 3000 rpms was under load or in nuetral that's why I said that
he said he hadn't checked his pressure while driving yet
another reason why I said doing it in nuetral won't help becuase if he's driving and his pressure is that low then that's a problem but not so much at idle

Makes NO DIFFERENCE if it's under load or not, the Oil Pump is a Positive Displacement pump, if the engine speed is xx it makes yy pressure... seriously STOP posting in Tech..

Im using an autometer half sweep with an electronic sender, the sender is plumbed in where the stock pressure sender was located.

The motor is in a 89 cressida and it is an aftermarket gauge/sender.

I have done that and no oil pressure was shown but I fired it up for 5-10 seconds with the sender removed and oil shot out of the hole with enough force to hit the wheel well.

Hmmm that sucks is there any way all 6 could be shot and dropping it enough to read 0 at idle-2500 rpm? Know a way of testing them once there out? I was hoping it was these, if its not I dunno what else to check..

Can you post a pic of this location?

Removed the stock sender and got a 1/8th npt to 1/8th bpt adapter for the autometer sender.
