Yeah, but you did yours a while back, the main reason I say to stay clear of the 1J is because the supply is drying up, and 2J prices have come down a lot...

Like everyone says both the 1jz and 7m and awesome when properly built. However it really depends on what you want; both are pretty good for circuit however the twin turbo is a better on turns only because the secondary turbine will make up for the other that is laggin. On the single turbo you may have a lil more pick up, but in a turn if you mess up and lose boost you will lose against the twin turbo hence single turbos are better for straight aways, but they are still kickass on circuit. Its all the owner though I say 7M-GTE FTW is what I got and I'm happy!

LOL, what? It doesn't "piss off" 7M owners, and the 2jz guys have an extra .5L displacement over a 1jz, so why would they be the least bit nervous? There's nothing better about a 1j over a 2j, really.
