I took the white cover off to just leave the letters behind and it looks much better. I will get a picture sometime.

Went out again last week and got the oil pump driveshaft in. That guy was fun, but we got the bearings down to size so it's all good to go. Just waiting on a few bolts to get the oil pump on and then the front engine cover goes on, pan and then head.

You don't happen to know where I can buy a oil pump driveshaft do you?

Here is the latest progress. I am still having trouble with my autometer oil pressure sending unit. It will not thread in. It is starting to piss me off. It's really the only thing holding the build back.

if you plan on eventualy making power you'll regret using those pistons..i know i did and im now redoing mine with probe pistons from DM if i dont go 2jz,but your build is looking good!

I destroyed four of mine the day I turned the boost past 14 psi on a stock turbo. AFR's were perfect, motor was healthy, etc. A couple of other local cars did the same thing. NPR pistons are junk.

why are your freeze plugs gold? clean build though nice car...

I've heard of two instances recently where non-OEM freeze plugs blew out. One caused engine failure, the other got lucky.

Thanks! I plan on being pretty close to stock for awhile. At most some 550's and an upgraded ct will go in. Nothing too crazy.

You'll find the limit of those pistons well before that.

Zach,

Was this due to Broken ringlands? I searched around and the only time NPR's failed it was a ringland. What where your piston to clyinder bore clearences and ring gaps? I think the guys making 400hp on an unopened motor are getting there by loose/worn clearences.

Looks like I better not up 550's and lex with the npr pistons from the sounds of it. I will probably just go full 3 inch exhaust, upgraded IC pipes and a EBC.

I've done my best not to cut corners and cheap out anywhere with this engine. Hopefully it'll hold up pretty well. I'd really like to slap on an upgraded ct eventually

I plan on putting this in over spring break in march. Since I am in school I need a good bit of time to get it all in and broken in. I will be going out this weekend to put the plugs in, coil pack on and 3000 pipe on.

I will have to check my numbers for the ring gaps. Here is the latest progress. It's pretty much done for now. I will be putting it in the third week in March. I will put recent pictures up later. Photobucket is being a chode.

Yea I used the advance auto straight 30 weight and a supertech filter. After the first startup I will change that and put a bosch filter and more straight 30 weight in. After that onto castrol 10w30 and mobil1 filters.
