If the price is good. Go for It's. It's a smaller turbo so your not going to be too laggy although you will experience lag, but the .81 backhouse pushes you through redline.
I know cuz I have a similar set up except I have a T70 with an .81 back. Just my experiece.

i was told that i had a 62-1 on my car but it turns out it's a 60-1 t4 .68 ar exhaus housing. spool is pretty good. i'm running 10lbs right now and hit full boost by 3k rpms. but i don't have a tubular mani. i have the c&n y shaped manifold so it's like 3 cylinders each fill 1 runner of the manifold. i guess that helps with quick spool. the car has no top end though. other mods are os giken clutch. blitz sbc, stock fuel that's why the boost is set so low, 4'' intake and full 3'' exhaust.

It's not really the compressor side he should worry about. It's the proper sized exhaust that he needs to get. I've seen 60-1's with P trim 1.32 exhaust housings....I'd like to see a 1JZ spool that. And then there's the B18 honda's running 60-1's with o-trim .84 housings.

how is a 60-1 too small for a 1jz? seriously explain to me why

fwiw, the deal on the 60-1 fell through and I'm just going to put my 67 back on the 1jz with a 3L bottom.. so forces me to get a 71+ for my 2j when I do go single :)

This is Ric we're talking about. If your turbo isn't capable of 700+hp, it's too small.:biglaugh:

That wasn't the point.

You FL guys have your mystery 1300hp 1J car anyway, so what does pushing the limits matter anymore?

Yeah I'm aiming to have at least 1khp on my 1J. Uhmm, Maybe a TWIN Holset turbo should do it....LOL.

Seriously though, if 60-1 is too small so what is the ideal size without blowing up the engine. I like to know myself so I know when I go single.

when going for big power, just start out with a better platform.. Yea big power can be made on the 1jz, it can be made on a geo 3 cyl engine... but reap the benifits of having a better platform to begin with imo..
