I am going to have my CT26 built; but, don't know which trim to choose.

My goal for the car is for it to be a daily driver with spunk. So, what are your opinions and experiences?

In choosing between reliability and power...I choose reliability!

Thanks...

I searched this topic a lot when I had my 7M. The .57 seems to last almost as long as the stocker. The 60 trims are hit and miss but most seem to fail within several thousand miles. Not to say all, but a lot.

I'd add my voice to the crowd. The 57 trim seems to be about as far as the CT26 can be reliably upgraded. Past that and man people have issues.

Even at 57 trim, be carefult o avoid compressor surge. Get a good BOV, and save yourself from killing the turbo.

ummm its called fuel cut. I have done more then enough resarch on the turbo. Lots of ppl have ran it fine right under fuel cut at 10psi and thats all I plan on doing till i get 550's and lexus afm

i don't get it...you're doing it all backwards. People always go turbo turbo turbo when in reality they need to go...'what do i need to do to support a bigger turbo?' :nono:

Edit: the real kicker is, i have (for the most part) everything i need to support a larger turbo but still run on stock ct due to money issues but i can probably outrun just about anyone here with an upgraded turbo w/o supporting mods like mine.

still doesn't make it the smart thing to do. why risk the loss of your motor for a little more power now, rather than do it properly later? your call, man.

you shouldn't rely on fuel cut to save your motor. it's there as a fail-safe, not to dummy proof the car, as you intend to use it.

im not going to crank the boost up to the point of every time I hit fuel cut. Im setting it at 10psi right under fuel cut and leaving it there for the time being. No different from many many other ppl who run 12-13 psi on the stock at right under fuel cut. The AFR are still pretty rich at thoses lvl under fuel cut. I ran my other turbo 12-13 psi on the stock one daily on the stock system for well over a year and half when the engine was torn down it was in fine shape. Now taking it over 10psi on the stock fuel system is a different story.

Ok. Let me add a little more to my question.

Here are my current and soon to be mods:

3" Exhaust (no cat) from the turbo back
Maft Pro
Balanced 440's or maybe 550's...??
Stock IC w/hard pipes
HKS SSQV BOV
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
MHG w/ARP Studs

Hope that clarifies things...:icon_bigg

So now I ask: 57 or 60 Trim? :naughty:

you're clearly missing the point from how many other posts and countless other threads if you would've searched.

57 trim = power, reliability

60 trim = much less reliability, slightly more power

Can always port the turbine housing out to keep it out of surge

Silence newb.

For the rest of the post....

57 trim is a great wheel. Ive seen 425hp out of a 57 trim ct.

60 trim is a great wheel also. Its not very popular though.

Stick with the 57 trim and rock on.

Not missing any point and didn't fail to search.

I simply want as many informed opinions as I can get prior to my purchase. My apologies for imposing on you; but, thanks for your input.

And 'Thank You' to all of you who graciously gave your opinioin!:icon_bigg
