^see ive heard that but im not convinced yet. I have a bit of money to spend on getting up to 15-16 PSI. I have a lexus AFM in my room. Its either spend my money on injectors or something else to get me there. Is my money better spent on a wideband and using the lexus afm and 440s?

You are going to need a wideband regardless of which injectors you use. You will max the 440's out at less boost and you'll need to know when or with
550's it will be too rich at lower boost and you'll need to know how much fuel to pull out. I would get that before you buy anything.

ok im ordering injectors and a wideband after the car is running. I read a very good writeup of the lexus and 550s on mkiiitech that convinced me. It also pointed out to use 440s for sure. at wot it definetley goes lean. Thanks Clif

If you ever decide to go for more horse power, go ahead and get a slightly larger injector, like venom's plug and play 660's, you can never have too much fuel ;), but you can have too little. If you ever decide to go maft-pro then this will be a little insurance to make sure you don't max out the 550's.
That's my two cents ne ways...

I'll be running a Walbro 255 pump, an Aeromotive AFPR, Stock injectors (rebuilt), and a stock turbo(also rebuilt) to 14 psi....Should I have any problems? I have a Lexus AFM for down the road and am not sure when I'll need 550's, any advice?

advice: get a wideband meter or 550cc's.

Because the lex-afm lets in 25% more air, you have to compensate that by injecting about 25% more fuel. the lex-afm+550cc does just about that.

If or when you decide to go with 440cc's, you will be tuning in the dark using just your afpr. You'll need at least an egt sensor, but a wideband would be a whole lot better.

A zeitronix wideband (I have it too, it's fairly cheap and good) costs more than some new 550cc rc injectors.

But if you'd ask me what to do? I'd buy both 550cc's and a wideband meter.

Ok, I just had a bunch of stuff written and my friend erased it by hitting the escape button.

So I'm going to type this fast and I'll probably not make this munch sense.

1) I'm looking for around 360whp, with the following supporting mods which I already have (B: already Bought) or am buying: larger than stock I/C (B), FFIM, AFPR (B), 3-in exhaust (remaking), T3/T4, K&N Filter (B), Greddy BOV (B), ARP head studs, wideband, EGT Gauge (B).

2) I really wanna use the stock 440's, but rebuild them vs buying 550's.

3) Was going for the EMU, but saw the argument vs the megasquirt and vs the maft pro.

4) Wanted to change to speed density if possible.

So now..... with the mods I gave, I really need to know.....

A) Which management will offer me the safest run? And how much $$$?

B) With all mentioned mods and the proper management, will the 440's work fine?

C) Anything else I would need?

yea there have been some people that have ran 440's with a lexus afm they are asking for problems.. if you do anything with the lexus afm do 550's...

Generally, I promote the large fuel system, strong engine, little turbo approach, however if you're careful the Lexus/440's thing works quite well. My GF's 90T has been running a 54 trim CT26 and Lex/440's in the 350RWHP range for 7+years. For what that's worth...

You can easily make 400 rwhp on the stock IC if money is tight. There are other tyhing more important. I would skip the EGT and get a wideband. Also If yopu are keeping the stock efi I would get a safc or safr (cheap used) instead of the afpr, you'll have alot more tuneability over an afpr.

I would go with the maftpro as there are a lot of ppl on here running it so finding someone to help you trouble shoot with it will be no problem (and trust me, you WILL need some type of help with any piggyback) I would still go with 550's just to be on the safe side. Why spend so much money on the other stuff and skimp on fuel? That's one of the most important things you need to include when doing these mods. Since you will be running a T3/T4 you should blow 360whp out of the water, so I'd def go with at least 550's. If you're getting ARP studs don't forget the MHG and have the head and block resurfaced to proper RA specs.
The Maftpro should run aroun 500-800 depending on all of the extras you buy for it (this thing can do a lot of stuff and knock out some of the things you had on your list of things to buy like wideband, boost controller, and speed density.
That's my take on things.

550s+stock AFM=WAY too rich. use a lex w/ the 550s and the walbro and get an SAFC2 and a wideband or use the 550s with maftpro in speed density

I actually wanna keep the stock HG. I know that it can definately withstand 360whp with ARP's torqued down nice and tight.

BTW, with the maftpro I can simply remove the stock AFM and don't need to buy the wideband?

Wow, someone could have just directed me to the SS site and shown me that the Maft Pro kit they sell includes everything for just $700 :)

The damn thing looks pretty damn good, and I'm quite sure it actually saves me a lot of $$$ than doing all the other things I mentioned (buying a separate piggyback, plus wideband 02, etc.).

I think in this case I might consider getting the 550's as soon as I'm done breaking in everything...... but I need a way to sell my 440's :(

You'll still need a Wideband!
But it will save you from getting a boost controller, lex afm, it's definitely more than worth the asking price.
If I were you i'd message Dr Jonez when you're ready to order, I'm pretty sure he'll save you some dinero!

Will do. Probably by Christmas when we move out of the apartment.
