We had to hammer the tranny mount to make better clearence but other than that it clears pretty well. Ran a straight pipe with small pie cuts and used a 90* and a 45* to run up the rear subframe and out.

If you havent already bought the material , you should consider making a aluminium exhaust.

why, because it will creep close to the downpipe, or because it will corrode rapidly due to exhaust gases?

Unless you feel like making a new exhaust system on a yearly basis, stick with steel.

so far I've fabbed my downpipe, which is 4", and I'm kinda thinking that I'm going to run into clearance issues, given that my car is lowered a lot.

look into oval piping, and look into running a dual exhaust (4" tp twin 3", side by side)

I was considering running twin 2.5's (or something), and have the feeling that it would be cheaper, considering the price of 4" and the availability of something smaller in my neck of the woods, so to speak...

Baller's exhaust material is Inconel.
Here's mine...no clearance issues so far.

So it can anneal then work harden crack and fall on the ground?
(there's a reason boat motors dump the coolant into the exhaust and run WC'd aluminium manifolds)

Inconel's the best for headers, but wouldn't Ti be better for the rest of the exhaust since its lighter and doesn't have to deal with creep in that application?

Inconel won't creep at the the temperatures experienced by an exhaust system...

Apparently, inconel is not a lot of fun to weld either.

is there a major benefit of 4in over 3? i would assume to a certain point there will be no more flowing benefits. but where is that point.

There will always be a benefit to running a larger diamiter exhaust on a turbo aplication, but unless your heading north of 500whp the gains wont be significant.
