So, as very little of you know, I acquired a 6MGE block on craigslist for $50 back towards the begining of the year. Got it home and gutted it, only to find that the crank and rods were wasted. Thanks to the generosity of a few, I was able to get the parts I needed for my badass build.

I want to think Aaron Garney (RabidChimp) most of all, for his patience and so much more. ForcedTorque for the connecting rods, Shawn (Junkie) for the 5 spd tranny, Robert (Supraguy31) for the 7M oil pump driveshaft and cuel at Supramania for the 7M crank pulley. Thanks guys!!!

Here is my new engine's story:

Oh, found out the hard way why you cannot use the 5M oil pump driveshaft in a 3.0 setup, DOH

Can't wait to finish breaking it in so I can dyno her :D

So far I am into the car for UNDER $1,500. The car itself was free.

What's planned next?

Removing the heater core and the rest of the useless crap under the dash (vents).

As of right now there is no power steering, no a/c, no cruise control, no egr, no washer fluid tank. Weight savings ftw :D

Also have 295cc injectors that will get soldered on to a spare wiring harness and go on after I get my base dyno done.

Yeah she's been running since 4/20. Did the big mk2 Supra Kirkland, WA meet yesterday... put on 240 miles, so total now is around 300+ miles (speedo stopped working when we did the 5spd swap)

noah, not too sure. When I was installing the clutch pedal and matching brake pedal I figured I had knocked the cable out of the cluster. Went back and checked it, sure enough, it was not plugged in, but even then still didn't work. I am HOPING it is a bad elbow. I need to get the car back in the air and put the automatic speedo elbow on and hope that works.

Thanks all!

I hope to make it to Centralia, right now it's kinda up in the air though as I have conflicting events going on =/

get naked & boost a supra
i don't know about the mkii, but the auto mkiii uses a 3 piece cable and it is usually the elbow that breaks on mine, i went auto to 5-speed by the way. in four years, it has broken twice, so now i keep an extra in the tool box. i guess i could just ditch the elbow and use the tow piece cable...one day.

make sure it's not unplugged from under the tranny..

One day my speedo stopped working, and I looked under the car, only to see two connectors hanging. Screwed them back together (one had a screw top), and my speedo/odometer started working again. That simple:D
