Hi i need help finding out how to get the speedo working correctly with the 6-speed getrag do i need to change the differential?

The rear differential may not contain the speed sensor, however, the gearing inside of it absolutely changes how fast the output shaft on the transmission is spinning, and therefore, changes the value on the speedometer.
If you want your speedometer to read correctly, you will need to do at least one of the following:
- change the rear differential
- change the speed sensor in the transmission
- use an adapter box on the speedo cable

Stick with the r154, it will save a lot (and hold a bit of power)

Does anyone know how the mk4 diff compares to the mk3 diff as far as strength is concerned?

stock MA70 rear 'give up'. And we all know Duane's big horsepower mk3:icon_bigg
