I have done research and have noticed that the waterpump on a 2JZGTE is a direct bolt on replacement to the hydrofan on a 1JZ and then you have to run either e-fans or a clutch fan. Can someone verify that the 2JZ pump will bolt onto my 1JZ for me because once I buy the pump Toyota wont let me return it and i can't afford for it to be the wrong part. Thanks.

Yes, it will fit, but you need to make sure you get the whole pump (some places just sell the front half, but I believe Toyota only sells the whole thing), and you'll also need a different pulley.

I plan on going electric because of the climate where I live not being overly hot. I think we've only really had 5 days of really hot weather this summer. Can I just use a stock waterpump pulley from a 2JZ?

Yep. You can also use any of the 2JZ aluminum pulley sets if you please. The stock pulley is $80 from Toyota IIRC, and they're hard to find used, so a $60 aluminum set might be your best option.

I will probably end up just getting a stock one just cause I dont have the time to wait for shipping and such from driftmotion or some other business with aluminum since the supra is my only vehicle.

Can you run the 1JZ water pump with no hydrofan setup?

Or do you have to switch to 2jz water pump if you remove the hydrofans?

From what I have read from doing research is you can take a piece of hose from the inlet to the outlet on the hydrofan but eventually your pump will just burn up as there wont be sufficient cooling of the pump.

I have two electric fans setup right now but my water pump isn't hooked up.
What all do I need to use the 1jz water pump with 2 electric fans?

So with the housing for the 2jz pump, it will bolt on with no additional changes or fabrications?

Will the 1jz hydraulic water pump and housing fit on the 2jzgte engine? If not, anyone have an extra 2jz water pump housing laying around that they'll sell?

make sure you get the waterpump housing as well cause the one from the hydrofan apparently does not work.
