2jz swap

Hey i'm new here in supramania. I have a 89 mkiii and i've been thinking about a 2jz swap. I live in Fresno, CA, and i was wondering what i would have to do to get it smog legal? Because i've noticed alot of the swaps are out of California.

Welcome, I'm also from Fresno. I drive the gold 1jz supra. Which one do u drive?

2jz swap in a MKIII is not legal, unless ofcourse you use a USDM engine with all EGR stuff, carsm harness etc, then get to a smog referee and have it inspected and reffed. I don't know anyone here around California has a legit 2JZGTE engine in a MKIII that would be smog legal. Most are using the JDM engine which is mapped based free of the EGR. US based a MAF based I believe.
