2jz swap in a MKIII is not legal, unless ofcourse you use a USDM engine with all EGR stuff, carsm harness etc, then get to a smog referee and have it inspected and reffed. I don't know anyone here around California has a legit 2JZGTE engine in a MKIII that would be smog legal. Most are using the JDM engine which is mapped based free of the EGR. US based a MAF based I believe.
