DOK, What do you suggest I do? Don't you run a wally into a surge tank and then another pump feeds off of that into the rail? How much power do you think I can get out of the walbro?

You are going in the right direction if you are thinking of using a surge tank. I would use two 044 bosch pumps after the surge tank. I rather have more flow. At almost 400 lph on each 044 pump, I feel safe doing long high speed pulls and not worry about melting pistons. :naughty:

I wouldn't push more than 550whp out of a single walbro. Sure, you can do a lot more, but I wouldn't chance it.

Well, that's good news then. My goal is to get up to 500whp and then start to add more parts. I just want to get it running for now, tune it and then maybe later on go for some bigger numbers. Good news is the last few parts are coming in this weekend and then I can try to start it up!!!

Very nice work so far. I am geting ready to drop a 2J N/A into an MKIII and will use he R154 w/1JZ BH. Were you able to use the 2J N/A flywheel and a clutch kit for the 7M? I thought I'd heard that the 2J N/A clutch would work as well.

UPDATES!!!

Well, everything is done and wired up! I need to clean the wiring up and mount a few things but I'll put that off until I get the engine started. I got to the point today where I could crank the engine over and nothing really happened.....but i expected that. After about the 10th time i cranked it over I did get one really loud back fire. I guess that's a start. Tomorrow I'm going to check for spark and make sure the injectors are getting a pulse.

One weird thing I noticed is that the Bosch wideband I wired up is getting really hot even though I have no ignition event yet. Does anybody know why this is? Does it pull a lot of current, or did I wire it wrong?

Any helpful pointers on getting this thing started would be great.

Wow, I had no clue about that. Well now I know. Thanks DOK!

If I had one loud ass (only downpipe on right now) back fire, that means I should be getting spark and fuel right?

YES!!! I was waiting for you to get on here and help me out. I will for sure try that and I will probably take your advice you gave me a while back and try to get it started on the 7M coild packs first. I'm using your base map right now too. I think I have my base timiing at 0 and your base map has the static timing at 15, do you think that will make a difference too?

Here's what you want to do to get it running.. you want to take it off locked timing, and keep adjusting the CPS until you get it to fire. You'll probably have to take it out and skip teeth to get it exactly where it needs to be. Then set the base timing to where you want it. I think 15* ended up working fine for me, but I'll have to look back at my latest tune file to be sure.

When that didn't work for me, I started switching around the wires going to the coils and got it running.

Cool thanks for the help guys!

It's my B-day today, so maybe if I get a chance to look at it, I can get it to start....:biglaugh:

I wish... But I do have the whole weekend to work on it, so I'll keep you updated.
