noobie question sorry
I might be getting sponsored soon and want to know what would be involved in a 2jz-gtte and 6 speed trans swap. If sponsored I want to get about 600-800hp for summer time street fun:evil2: I am very iterested in what type of parts would be needed and if I could buy reproduction harnesses and aftermarket ecu. I want this because I want to be unique. I want the power because I was driving home threw town with my cherokee (supra has blown
7m-ge motor) and I almost got clocked by a eclipse and srt-4 racing (eclipse won) when I found them they said I was too slow for the street and that he would never be beat by me:icon_evil I must get this car running and absolutly smoke him the stock turbos 7m could definetly do it but if I am sponsored why stay stock:1zhelp: Thanks for any help

How deep are your pockets, sponsored or not...

The 2JZ Swap alone is a bitch in the pants, what your asking for sounds like a world of hell money wise. Is it a full sponsorship? (they pay for all this)

I dont see how the 1g is btter than the 2j....But anyway, Search aropund for 2j-mk3 swap. Plenty of people have done it. But you can also use the money to build a bullet proof 7m gte motor, which is a total drop in as its the stock motor. Because if you get the 2j, it is a lot of money just for that, then the hassel of getting it in and working, and then you have to upgrade it to a single turbo anyways...

ok thanks for all the info but could a 7m-gte be built for a reliable 600-800hp
I want to drive this car on the street for the Ohio summers I found suprasport.com to do all that.
the 1jz-gte how would it hold up to the hp I want to put down. How much would it cost for this swap and what would I need. Were can I get the ecu and transmission. MY CAR IS N/A  for now:naughty:
The 2jz-gte why would I have to convert from twins to a single that makes no sense:icon_conf
Finally I am not sponsored yet but keeping my fingers crossed:icon_bigg

ok trust me just get a 1j, go single and shoot for 500 before you start saying you want 800. man you've got a na, I mean common 500 hp is a big difference then a NA mkiii. just get a JDM 1j 5spd front clip get a big single, with supporting fuel and electronics, and call it a day.

Ummmmmmm...:nono:

Sorry, I keep forgetting 2 > 1. If there's more, that's gotta mean better, right?! ....... wrong. :icon_conf

I do have a friend with a 610rwhp stock twin Supra, but he did it purposely to see how much power he could get out of it. At 610rwhp, it was really walking on it's last leg. DEFINATELY not recommended. Besides, the car and turbo's only had about 17,000 miles on it at the time and those miles were a lot of driving down the street and back type of thing. (Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "It must be a really long street":naughty: )

Anyways, I didn't even bother to read the 2nd page to see if anyone else said what I've already typed, but Oh well. There ARE people that upgrade their twins with something a bit bigger, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the, umm...quicker ones, Are Single Turbocharged.

The way it's suppose to be. ;)

Ummm.... You need to do some reading up on what you're gonna need and how to do it. Lots of info out there and it sounds like you have a wishlist, but no real direction.

Also,
I don't see that you've posted much and I have more of question about how you think you may get sponsored.

There are alot of "scams" that are used to make ppl believe that they are being sponsored, when in fact you end up paying for all of these parts up front and never getting your $$ back. I think there was a thread on here and also on SF that covered it.

So, do a search on sponsoring and make sure that your deal is legit. I really kinda doubt it is, since there are already alot of sponsorable MKIIIs that aren't even being looked at or sought after. Not arguing that your deal isn't legit, just giving you a head's up about the "too good to be true" scenarios that already exist.

Also,
The less you know about a 2JZ swap, the more it's gonna cost you and I guesstimate yours will be about $6500, if you do the work yourself (based on your questions).

Actually, if he's referring to the junk sponsorships brought to you by:
www.Carsponsorships.com :D, then the deal is definately legit.
You sign up, describe your car, maybe a picture, and it's free to apply, but it will cost you $90 if you DO get any sponsorship...and you depending on who you get sponsored by, you do get 40% off of merchandise, or $500 spending free, then the rest is $50% off and all sorts of deals. No small talk written beneath. You can benefit from it very much so...IF YOU ACTUALLY BUY THINGS. Otherwise, it's just a good way for them to make money.
I, out of curiousity, applied a long time ago for a 3000GT I had.
Within 48 hours, I got an email back with a contract and all this stuff and I had 4 sponsorships. Sadly enough, I never did buy anything. :D
I kind of just blew it off...Oh well! ;)

But Yeah, if you're an NA guy that just wants to finally have a really fast Supra and wants to go with a 2JZ, then I hope you've done your research and studying. It will be VERY expensive, and just for the record, you would be perfectly happy with a 300rwhp Supra. Yeah, Yeah, watching all those video's on the web with 1000rwhp Supras and 800rwhp Supras, understand that those Supra's are breathtaking and if not paying attention, would probably cause you to shit yourself.
Even 500rwhp out of a Supra would be mindblowing...so before you start considering an 800rwhp 2JZ MKIII, go find someone with a 300 or 400rwhp Supra and see what you think. I promise it will be plenty for what you want.

But hey, that's just my .02

flopp, sorry to be harsh, but i just dotn think i can hold it in....

- 2j swaps in mkiiis are not "unique". They've been done many times.
- No legit company is going to sponsor an NA. Unless youre car alrady had a 2j swap, and had body mods and was imacculate, sponsors wouldn't even give you a second look. No "big" company cares about the mkiii....
- you have a 200hp NA, and you want a "600-800whp" 2j. Kinda big step dotn you think? Try 300-400whp car first before you end up in a guardrail.
- there are probably a couple hundred threads (on here and SF) about what is involved in a jz swap, try searching the section on how to do it if youre dead set on it.
- a 7m *can* handle the power youre "looking" for, but it needs to be built right and not 1/2 assed.
- do some more research on turbochargers period, and see why you might be better off with a single....
- if youre building this car to beat an srt4 and an eclipse, then i feel sorry for you....

just being stickler for details: It's a 2jz-gte, not a 2jz-gtte. Nissan uses the 'tt' to denote twin turbo engines, not Toyota (think rb28dett).

I never did read alot about sponsorships before... just remember the trickery that was goin' around a couple years back. Once I'm done with the latest 2J swap, I may look into it :naughty:
