$700
Too expensive, You might as ell go GTE for these prices.
I have researched the NA-T pretty heavily and if you can show me how to do a decent NA-T swap for less than the price of a 2jz-gte swap I'm all ears. It sounds cheaper, and seems cheaper, but ultimately it's about the same.Boostage said:riiiiiight because, new head, gasket, exhaust manifold, coil packs and electronics and harness= less $$..

My list looks like this:
2jz-ge - $200
Head Gasket - $150
Oil Pan - $250
Manifold - $250
XS Power turbo - $350
Ebay wastegate - $200
Oil Line Kit - $200
Downpipe - $150
Intake - $100
Now here's where it gets interesting... It's all fun and games until you get to the fuel and tuning. Here's the part where you shout "7M Electronics!" But can you show me one successful NA-T running on the 7m electronics? No. Everyone talks about it, but nobody does it. Why? First of all, nobody wants to run AFM! Secondly, dropping $600 for a 7M piggy back on a 2jz is like doing Cindy Crawford with a blindfold on... it's just wrong, and what would be the point? :dunno:
Don't forget to factor in injectors, resistor packs, tuning, that funky intercooler piping, and you're about even with the 2jz-gte swap. God help you if you want a FFIM and/or if you go standalone, (like everyone does) because that makes the 2jz-gte is much cheaper, and a lot better looking. :naughty:
Has anyone done this in a MKIII without a standalone or without a FFIM? If so, link me. That’s what kept me from doing it. The damned Boost Logic IC piping kit is $1200! Mine is all set up for FFIM from the 1jz, and I don’t want some crazy piping looking like homegirl from down under with the yellow car. You know who I am talking about.OneJoeZee said:Those NA-T FFIM manifolds are not for everybody. Plenty people are doing just fine with the stock GE manifold.

Do we know anyone running 2jzge-t that doesn’t have a standalone? I know of Rafael (GeneStarWind or whatever) running just straight 2jzge and he’s pig rich.
So many questions…
Awesome! I wonder how it flows. I was wondering if something like this could be done. I have no welding skill so I don’t know how hard are how involved it is, but it’s gotta beat $700 and $900. It’s about time!hottscennessey said:

Also... I could fab my own FFIM...not a problem.
Looks like all I would really need is a header(does SSAC make those for a 2jz-ge), a 1jz bellhousing, and an engine.....
I already have a koyo rad, big single, v-band downpipe(custom made, can be modded if need be), braided fuel line with AN fittings(could be adapted), AFPR, and all the other stuff that would interchange. This is most interesting. I think I will be going to the salvage yard to see what I can see...
Quoted for the truth!OneJoeZee said:Whether or not anyone with an MK3 has used the stock manifold is irrelevant. You don't have to use an FFIM. The piping is very similar to a 7M and nobody said you had to pay BL 1200 for a piping kit. Get it made elsewhere for cheaper.
A standalone would be best choice for any swap, anyway. You say it like it's a negative of the process.
