It's that time of year again folks. For those of us who were stupid enough to give our government an interest free loan it's time for us to get our money back. So, who all is getting money back and what are your plans for it? I just filled out my tax info on Turbo Tax (free for the federal filing) and with just my return my wife and I will be recieving a decent chunk back. We just have to wait to get her w2's so we can add her and then submit for our refund.

As for what we're doing with the money, we're putting it towards the Supra since it's in the shop right now and about to undergo major surgery (replace the bottom end).

I average about $2000 back every year between paying a little extra and rrsp contributions. I pay extra every pay day in case one day I do owe for whatever reason Im already paid up. As for what I'm going to spend it on, wouldnt you like to know.

Smart ideas Ken and Daryl. My current refund stands at $539 (just got another w2 for me), we'll see what adding my wifes w2's do to that number (should go up a decent amount since she didn't make much either last year).

Mine's already spent on paying back the card I just used:

Speedo cable : not a day too soon as it just started squeaking ALL THE TIME. VERY ANNOYING.
Coil pack harness : every wire was full of green
Radio : old cheap kenwood started dieing, replaced with a JVC my dad had, JVC started eating batteries, ordered a Pioneer MVH-P8200BT. So far I'm happy with it. Good sound, 8 band EQ, USB AND SD slots...

Normally wouldn't use a card for this kind of stuff but the head gasket in October, TV in November, and then a crown for my teeth this month did a number on my reserves.

Getting caught up with some bills and hopefully stashing some for a rebuild this summer. Well see.

mine, well i have no idea where im spending the whopping 733 bucks. but i imagine a good chunk of it will be spent at the sushi bar on my "last meal"

what i find disturbing is that i lost almost half my effort this year to child support and taxes....maybe it was cheaper to keep her

Takin' my return, and selling my little MR-2 and getting a pickup truck.

...that's going to be a rough day. :(

:( Any particular reason Theresa?

I'll be getting roughly 400 and that will be spent on a new engine wiring harness. Mine is literally rotting away...

im pretty sure i know why, and i sort of understand.

but i think there is no reason why damien couldnt co-exist with a pickup. mike's truck and supe seem to get along fine with each other.....

Buy a Toyota. Ya just can't kill 'em! If you're looking to get into the "backcountry" find one with a rear e-locker (electronic locking differential) and put a Detroit Tru-Trac in the front (limited slip). You'll go damn near anywhere you'd want/need to take a full bodied truck. Or a selectable (ARB) front locker.

I could not live without my Pickup. It's FAR too useful. Ground clearance FTW!

As for my tax returns- either going toward a Hypertherm Powermax plasma cutter, or straight into my house fund.

Wish I had the space to say bring it with you guys and sell it to me, but I'm looking to buy a house here sometime in the near enough future...

As for mine, I need to try and get my w2 info from Home Depot for this last year... I'll update when I find out. :)

LOL. No masks. Considering the government taxed me while I served in its military, they can go to hell. Besides, I spend all that hard earned cash (no savings) and put it towards bills or living expenses (nothing extravagant, maybe a RedBox movie rental here and there).

Mike hasn't driven that poor Supra in a year. :p

I have my reasons. My little car really doesn't fit my lifestyle anymore. Having two big dogs doesn't co-exist with tiny ass car. It also can't get my ass to work if there's ice anywhere.

We're serious about moving out west (MT/WY/ID) at some point as soon as we can, and having a car that tiny just doesn't work out there. I'd only get to drive him 2-3 months out of the year, provided the potholes don't eat him.

Not sure how any of you are getting $$$ back. I get fucked every year. HARD.

Im single according to the g'ment.
I own my own house.
Im white. Male. No dependents. No medicare / g'ment hand outs.

Every year the State and Feds demand I pay them money. I even have $20 EXTRA taken out of each check.....
