It can be done very cheap if you do the work. Is a lot of work and I don't recommend you do it by yourself. Thanks for the comments by the way.

EDIT:

I forgot to add that I also got mugflaps for the rear bumper because the old ones weren't perfect.

holy hell. i am going to say that i am jealous. jealousy is only the beginning of ambition though. it gives me a reason to start my work on my car. you are pretty much building the DREAM shell that i want. maybe someday..

my other question, is where do u work? you have a kid, a wife, a busted house, a huge supra project? and you are actually buying OEM parts? that is NUTS! u have got alot of money into this project and its sitting like it was on the assembly line some 15-20 years ago...

on a 2nd note. i love it. i would enjoy seeing more pictures.

inspiration ladies and gentlemen... inspiration!

I'm glad I'm making you that kind of jealous, not the bad kind :biglaugh: There's a lot of people here that also inspire me to continue doing this build. As you may know, ITS a LOT of WORK!!! :icon_bigg

I play hard, but I also work hard and try to keep things balanced, a little bit for the car, little bit for this and that, etc. I work for Air Products as an IT Specialist. I was blessed to get in while I was still in school.

Holy shit, I was just thinking of the guy that bought an N/A and wanted to make it a super clean, brand new beast of a luxury car.

THAT WAS YOU!!!!!

I'll be watching, and I shouldn't have been lazy ;)

I forgot to add, I also had the guys cut out a hole for the intercooler pipe to the FFIM. Most of the holes in the engine bay are also covered. I also shaved the rear wiper.

Well, thanks to this thread, I'll be late for work. I just read the whole 11 pages. I couldn't stop. I was sooooo hoping to have a finished painted picture when I got to the end, but there wasn't one. At least I'll get to see it when you post it up now that I"ve found this thread. You're doing an awesome job of rebuilding this supra. +1000 to you.

I love the pictures you posted up on the first page. That black loooks sweeet as hell, but everyone knows I love the blues...............:biglaugh:

What motor are you installing in this luxury vehicle? I read where you're going twin turbo'd, so you had me confused (as usual). Keep up the good work, and yes, just like everyone else, I too am jealous...................

hahahahaha.....believe me, I'm more anxious than you are. Hopefully it will be painted by the end of the week or the next. We'll see. 2 more days till the clear gets here. :naughty:

It took me a looooong time to choose between the blue or the black just because I love both colors

Ultimately, it will be a 7M TT - I thought you said you read the whole thing?? :nono:

Thanks for checking it out. I just found out about your wife's car last night. I think that's really cool. I wish my wife would want to get into it. The last time we bought a Supra for her, I ended up fixing it up and keeping it :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I guess that took her motivation away :biglaugh:

I read every page of it. I saw where you wanted Duane or Kwnate to donate their engine to you, but then when I read that you will be going twin turbo, it just threw me for a loop. I automatically thought of the 1jz when you mentioned twins. I can't wait to see how a twin turbo'd 7m will perform. Sounds to me like you've got twice the chance to blow a headgasket now..............:biglaugh:

Just kidding.

Another NOT SO GOOD update.

Special Clear Coat got here, but is no good. They cannot wet sand it to make it extra extra smooth...so we're back to using the top of the line clear, but is not anti-scratch.

Anyone knows of another anti-scratch that CAN be wet sanded?? Let me know ASAP please!!!!

Few pieces got painted already. The guy called me, so I'll stop in tomorrow morning to take a look. Hopefully I'll like it.

Yeah, good progress so far, the guys are kicking ass. I went today to look a some painted parts and WOW...:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

Had major issues removing the front lower control arms to have them powder coated separate. The bolts seized and had to have them cut. So I had to take them back to the shop, have the guys cut them out, then take them back to the powder coater. 2 1/2 hours in transition. Major PITA!!!!

I'm putting new bushings all around anyways, so I don't care that they were cut. I'll post pics later on....

I wondered why they were still together, and if you could powdercoat like that.
I hate those bolts. I torched mine out, in the back.

Any pics from the shop today?

BSG - The powder coating guy was supposed to take them out, but I told him I needed them done by Sat morning. He told me that it might take longer because he had to take them apart (taking them apart because they're getting different colors). So I told him I would go and take them apart. When I got there, the rear ones came off easy, but the front ones, no way in hell would they come off. So that's why I had to take them back to the shop to have them removed.

You can have them powder coated like that if you're replacing the bushings anyways. Otherwise you have to remove the bushings first.

I do have some pics, but I left the camera at home :nono:
I'll post them tomorrow. I'll also post some from the coating place since I'm picking them up tomorrow morning.:evil2: :evil2:
