Mike, Sounds pretty good... What exactly was done for your exhaust?????

On a different note but still pretaining to exhaust, I dont know if you noticed but in my thread on here and over on Lextreme, I posted a bit of info and pics of the fitment of the headers Im building for mine, well just the drivers side due to steering shaft clearance, the pass. side is far easier. Turns out that due to the 45* deg. angle of the head and ports, there is far more room then I antisipated. I tried to hold the primaries as tight to the block and mounts as I could and was thinking that I was only going to have about an 8th inch of clearance, but turns out, there is atleast an inch if not more.

Sounds even better in person. I think the dynamic range of the camera's microphone is a bit narrow but thanks for the compliment :)

I'm using the stock SC400 tubular exhaust manifolds dumping to 2.5" exhaust piping which merges into a 3" Magnaflow y-pipe just below the carrier bearing (split in the drive shafts) which flows into a 3" exhaust pipe that leads to a Magnaflow 3" single inlet/dual 3" outlet SS muffler with SS packing. All smooth bends in the tubing, the Magnaflow y-pipe is an open design not just a couple of pipes cut and welded together, and the Magnaflow muffler is a straight through design not multi-chamber). If you're interested in specific part numbers for the Magnaflow stuff, I can dig them out of my parts spreadsheet for ya.

I have read your posts on the headers. Will they have bungs in them for the main O2 sensors? Would the exit flange be in the same location or further back (long tube or short tube design?). I wonder if they would work on my setup? I would think they do since I think the '87 subframe mounts are closer in, at least at the bottom since they interfere with the oil pan flange during installation. The only question would be if my mount design would interfere with your header design. Want to send up samples? ;)

Of course the biggest question is when will you start the design for turbo manifolds?

TT 1UZ.. beauty

If I were to go that far it would require the engine to be torn down and built for this type of setup. I think it would be a waste to build a TT 1UZ and only be able to apply 6psi (stock CR is 10:1) don't you? This is also a potential plumbing nightmare inside the MkIII engine bay.

Agreed :) Now, if I could find another cheap 1UZ to put on the stand and slowly build it up, well....the possibilities are only limited by the available budget. Just need to wrap up a few other items first like suspension.

suspension is definitely key, awaiting pics of what you end up utilizing..

Had a blast last night. Visited DrJonez to pick up some suspension parts. Let him inspect the car and take us for a drive. It was great experiencing what the passenger experiences when a competent driver is putting the car through its paces.

Mike, the early UZ's have proven to hold 12+psi on a 100% stock unopened well tuned engine, this should also give easily 400+ rwhp. but yeah the plumbing of the downpipe is where the nightmare is if you want to keep AC. Without AC and relocating the ALT, downpipes are no longer an issue. I've toy'ed with the idea of a pair of garrett GT2056's.. Due to thier small size, they would tuck very nicely against the block just above the oil pan wings, below the manifolds. The only problem with them down there is the intake pipe to the compressor will be post interference problems with the mounts, and you'd would be limited to about 500hp (flywheel), So no upgrading beyond there.
