so my car came w/ a 1pc alumn ds from the driveshaft shop, now going off of their website the description for it says "Toyota Supra 86-88 Turbo Automatic (or 86-88 Auto with Manual Conversion) Aluminum Shaft--TOSH3 "

does that mean that the ds is the same length for the auto and manual trans, and are the spline count the same, i tried searching but all i found was threads about pros/cons w/ a 1 pc alumn ds, it doesnt really make sense since when you do a 5spd swap you need the front half

any help would be greatly appreciated,:1zhelp:

I think it fits the automatics and the NA model's manual gearbox (w58), but not the turbo model's manual tranny (R154). I'm not completely sure but I remember hearing something like that.

Well according to Shaftmaster they are but when my mechanic tried installing the aluminum one piece on my 89 supra turbo auto it was a couple inches too long. Then he tried it on his 87 turbo manual and it fit perfectly. Both driveshafts were the same cause i told the shop guy Dave to mark which one was the 87 manual turbo and which was my 89 auto turbo and he said oh they're identical. So my mechanic compared the stock driveshafts and sure enough mine was shorter. So yeah please tell me if you know cause I'm wondering why it won't fit when their site says that it should.

Here take a look maybe you can figure it out...
