hi all check out my dyno

been tuning for about 3hrs working out bugs, it was 90+ degrees and probably heat soaked. im wondering if the #'s were low and the tuner said that the engine is running good and he thinks its making good power for the setup. he also told me the dyno reads lower than a dyno jet. feels great on the street though. was hoping to be close to 450hp on this setup. he said if it cooled down, i would probably put down 375 or so.

Those numbers are very low. The turbo is garbage or you have a bad tuner.

My buddy put down 345whp with only 12 psi on a gt35r.

I know the turbo is bottom of the line...I'm gonna get a different
real turbo when this one blows...trying to get the af and ignition timing
stuff from him

he knows what he's doing I'm sure, his name is Kevin and he works at
majestic motorsports in Jacksonville nc...they do alot of supras!! The
shop supra makes 1500hp and run mid 8s

so u guys don't think it's just the stock cams besides the turbo..

Yeah for sure,

310 WHP the stock twins will do that AND have 2500 RPM more spool! Stunned if that is called an upgrade!!

You should have made more power than that....

Now, of course, I will have to say your turbo choice probably wasnt the best.. But those turbos have been good up to ~18psi which should have put you in the 400s without too much issue. The Stinger should have definetly helped you get there

I think I would be around 400 on a dynojet....it certainly feels solid.
Well what turbo then, street turbo? Driftmotions? Master power??
Don't wanna spend too much, want to do 2j block and cams...

Well Im sure youre aware of the saying: you get what you pay for. Now, thats not always true of course, but when it comes to something that requires a great deal of precision... I would say spend the extra cash, you wont regret it.

I believe Driftmotions turbos are good quality, and there is also SoundPerformance, Garrett, HKS, Turbonetics, etc...

That 2jz block and cams with a good turbo and everything else you have should put you in the upper 400s with out too much problem

i think im gonna go with a master power turbo, good things about them and within my price range....i was boosting around town and im guessing everything isnt heatsoaked anymore, i was spiking 22.5psi. i think im just gonna run off the wg spring for now which is at 1bar...

if i posted a log could u guys help me out?? i really think im closer to 400hp, gonna take it to a dynojet in about 2 weeks... anybody know much about the superflow dyno?? they said it would read lower than a dyno jet, but how much?? thanks again..

Yeah that white supra that he has is a beast...I went to that shop before, the whole crew was stoked when they saw my 4g63T turbo mightymax truck...the owner was also stoked when i told him that i was putting a 1jz in a 260z, of course he had the "yeah right" kind of questions he was asking me..lol I should be driving the 260z in a couple months!!

I guess for what you paid 350+whp ain't bad..i say raise the boost to 20-22 psi and see if you can make 400whp..run that turbo... save up and buy the turbo you really want, either way now your feet are wet..:evil2:

I'm torn between upgrading the cams or a diff turbo, I
know the cams are one of the best mods for our engines,
but if I can make 500 without it, I might just do it a lot later instead..

my vote is for turbo. cams will yield a ton of extra power, but that turbo is going to take a shit, i couldnt tell you when, but it is, and when it does you will have to replace it. That is not anywhere close to where your power should be.

i have a similar setup, 440's, afc neo, and 2jz usdm cams, and at 15 psi i made 450 hp.

I dont think that the cams made more than a 25 hp difference.

How hard is it to tune if I slap on a turbo, like a master power t70..
I can make adjustments etc but don't know why or how much what to
look for...sigh...would love to learn though

I'll answer for Mark since he isn't here at the moment...........:icon_bigg

He had a www.driftmotion.com 61mm turbo running 23-24psi with racegas. I think he had some 2jz cams installed, but I couldn't swear to it.

On my 1jz I made 543rwhp @ 24psi with crower cams. I daily drove mine @ 17-18 psi and it made 447rwhp. with 12rwtq.................:biglaugh:

IIRC, I was running about 23psi and C16. The turbo was a hybrid 60-1 (61mm turbine). The turbine was a GT wheel and the CHRA was Turbonetics. As for cams, I use modded USDM 2J cams.

I think the secret to my success falls on both the turbo and using Stinger ECU. With this set up, I ran 478whp daily.
