I either could get coilovers and 1j plus goodies or 2j and sit on ebiachs and blown bilstiens. I went for the 1j and I'm happy. Much happier now with the single and my firewall not banged up.

All kidding aside, I know of a guy who just dropped a 1j into his bmw, swapped the cams and runs an afc and is getting real close to 500 hp. He's a friend of a guy i work with, and the guy i work with drives a sleeper volvo that has 516hp 4 cylinder, oh and it runs on pump. Anyway, Cams, valves, springs, upgrade the hell out of that fuel system, turbocharger rated for the amount of hp your shooting for, timing control, there is also a set up where you can spray nitrous oxide onto intercooler to super cool incoming air supposedly giving you 25% more power (never done, have only done wet shot under carburetor). Or you could call your tuner and be like yo dudebro I want to make 600 hp what do you recommend? Most manufactures will be more than willing to help you, just be patient and make sure you do your build right.

why spend the money on a 2j when i can get 500whp out a 1j for less simple choice.. i was going to do a 2j swap when i started this project., but than i took a good look at hp goals. and thier is absolutly no reason for me to go 2j.. now i dont think their is no arugment that can change that logic..
now if you want to build a complete monster.. say you looking for 700- 800 wheel , than buy all means. build 2j.. really the only major cost differance is like 1g on motor. and the 6 speed is the real killer of the 2j build.. and if you dont have a 6 speed with your 2j.. they will still say your broke..
