My buddy got a gtech for christmas. We went out and tested it in my bpu 1j last night. After a legit run it measured about 230hp/270ftlb to the wheels at the stock 10.5psi. imo was a bit low but w/e.

After a couple more runs (with crap launches) we just started messing around. I bumped her up to 15psi and took a 90degree corner in second gear and punched it and broke the tires loose (sidewayz yo) and this number came up lol:

And who says 1j's have no torque? pssh...

lol

Just post the numbers, so we can call you a liar...............:biglaugh:

Just kidding. I hope my 1jz will have a little power behind it. I'll hopefully know in about a month............lol

Something has got to be a little off, we just dyno'd Ray's 1jz Cressida on a Dynapack and it made 272whp with no boost controller and 10.5/1 af's on the top end. Your torque is about right but the HP is way low for even a 1jz with stock downpipe. If you have a stock downpipe you need to check out the ones we just made LOL

Your link is brokeded though....;

Ya it was just a quick run. We didn't really bother to calibrate everything in it. I think it just measures hp/tq off of the 0-60 and 1/4mile time (7.07s and 15.13s@96 respectively). The hp is probably a lot higher since I had a really bad launch as well as 2nd gear is hard to get into when you're pushing it.

We guessed the car to be 4000lb (me and him probably weigh 350-400lb together).

I'm running 3" all the way turbos back (including the ypipe) so these hp #'s are definitely off.

Nice. I was about to ask how his dyno went on saturday.
I'll be asking for your help not too far in the future to setup for a baseline dyno run.

I have Gtech PRo I was going to install on my truck, but I never got around to it. So I might install on the supra for kicks. Mold it into the dash somewhere.
nah dont install it permanent man. it's nice to have the option of just carrying it around with you to any car you can find with a cigarette lighter. theyre meant to just suction onto the windshield anyways arent they?

When setup correctly, they are frighteningly accurate.

Aircraft use the same principles in there INS systems for positioning data. Its a proven and very reliable method.

1Jz torquless is such a myth...lol Shorter Stroke = Better torque numbers

A guy over at RCTS with just exhaust and intake got 300RWHP and 330 or 350 ft/lbs can't remember exactly. They are going to put in a HKS V-Pro standalone and some cams. It should be interesting. I have a feeling you can get allot out of the stock engine before needing many other upgrades.

I'd like to think more people now are aware of the 1j myths and how false they are like parts are hard to find, the have a lack of torque problem, the turbos can't take anything past 14psi, the engine is end all be all fix for being a dumbass, etc

I've more or less dealt with all of them personally  I broke one engine, boosted my turbos high without them breaking and found a new engine and parts in a timely manner when I needed them.

Now that I have the black car, this is the 3rd 1j i've owned. hehe
