1jz tach problem

just got my car swapped from na to 1jz by driftmotion (excellent job btw) but im having problems with the tach, it came off a 7mgte. the wieird thing is it "idles at 0" and i went passed 7500rpm and didnt hit rev limiter, has anybody had this problem? if it matters i did take off the needle to replace the face so all the faces matched the rest of the gauges

ps. 7mge to 1jzgte is a BIG difference:evil2:

Well the markings on the faces could be off? Where did you get the face from and where did you get the Tach from?

i got the tach from someone that responded to my parts wanted thread and the face is from my original tach

yea i actually have that problem now.. hehehehe well it idles like at 1k but on my afc neo it says im idling like at 680-746 rpms. so i just plain said f*&k it and i just go by what my neo says... but i really dont think just cuz you taken off the needle to make it match with the rest would have anything to do with it cuz i did the same thing.. just mine idles at 1k... wierd tho..

well mine is just reading way too low for some reason. theres no way im cruising at 500rpm

if you line the faces up, the markings are in different spots most likely. i know thats how it is with the speedometer faces. they might both line up at zero for example, but when one gets to 6500, the other one might be at 7500.
