1JZ Swap into a 1987.......Mitsubishi Starion

I got an 87 tsi conquest. The exhaust manifold gasket was blown and the head gasket was blown (bought it this way as a project) Well pulled the head and figured out the number 4 piston is traveling farther than the wear in the cylinder so the bearing is spun or bad or something, guess we couldnt hear it over the bad exhaust leaks. Also the PO let it sit with water in the cylinder so theres rust pits in it from that and to top it off theres some major cracks around the jet valves in the head.
my fuel rail leaked at the ends, had to fix that.. holy shit, i thought i was going to break the fittings before they stopped leaking..
had fun with this little wiring mess, but it all works like a charm now!
Late night start up, needed a test drive and had no air filter, make shift beer can filter! haha

The car is low, i raised it up a little, but was still worried about my oil pan, i went mad max on that bitch! it should be good to go now! haha

thats crazy always thought of doing something custom like this in a light car but too much fabrication for me. but I respect all the effort it takes to do these projects. I wish I was this mechanically inclined. i get pissed off just having to deal with old seized bolts and replacing basic shit well I'm putting on other new parts lol
No videos yet, well i do have one of it driving, but we forgot to hook up the back cam sensor, so it wouldnt build boost..
runs great though.. we parked it for the night and the next day i drove it home, its acting the same way again, wont build boost you can hear it trying, and the boost gauge wont go past zero, feels like the computer has it in "safe mode" im going to check resistance on my cam sensors today and make sure they are good.. one of them is leaking oil into the plug, the back one. so i dont know..

here is a video, i know its sideways, but this is how the car acts. Towards the end of the video it you can hear the turbos spool up but it wont make boost. this was the run when we forgot to plug in the cam sensor. but the car is doing the same thing again, it ran great when i hooked up the cam sensor until i let the car sit overnight.

The top half of the R154 shifter was just way to tall, i made a shorter one.. turned out well

your cars starting to remind me of some early 70's jackie chan film where they do some whacky race and the mitsubishi is like able to go underwater and the turbo is more like nitrous lmfao
Pretty sure thats the same car.. i believe it was a starion, just an early model.. not a widebody
you've seen the film as well? =) yeah it was a black starion, with a crazy interior, but irl your motor is 10x better haha. maybe you can add some oil squirters in the back and use that new foam seal product your car would be bullet proof. haha jk but I can't wait to see a quarter mile in this thing, it's so light. I think traction is gunn be your biggest problem in the long run!
car weighed a little over 2800 without me in it it before, that was with no back seats.. so with full interior, bigger engine, and tranny and me id say im around 3200 or so...

well we went out for a drive tonight, got a short video, then i believe either my clutch or pressure plate let go.. not sure.. anyway, click the link for the video
